Question about MotorGuide STANDARD MOTOR REPLACEMENT PARTS SWITCHES AND COMPONENTSDescript

Open Question

My Motor Guide 756 is makeing a growling sound when the shaft turns. I know it has to be the bearings on the shaft and I can get lower set out to grease them but can't get to the top ones in the head of the trolling motor. I can spray the upper ones with WD40 and it seems to help a lot but I know this is only temporary as they need greased to hold up. How can you tell if the bearings need replaced? Where can I get an operational/repair manual for this older trolling motor. It seems to be working good other then the problems stated. Thanks Dave

How do you know water pump is bad

It will usually leak coolant or the bearing will become worn causing play in the pulley shaft making a noisy/growling sound. In some cases the internal impeller can break resulting in an overheating situation

Is there a bearing or bushing on the shaft that the left axle slides onto on a 1999 Bonneville se?

i have been fooled by this one way to many times. when a wheel bearing or hub assesembly is making noise, it will sound like it is comming from the other side. i do not know why this is. but one test will prove if and which one. when growling noise occurs, notice, when turning left or right, does noise get louder and quieter as you turn? if so then it is wheel bearing. when turning left the right side will make more noise. when turning right the left side will make more noise. if always the same then, tires or transmission need addressing. the cv axle does not make a growling noise, unless front wheel drive car does not move, it makes a clicking or poping noise. sorry but at least you dont have to replace other axle

Lg ldf7932ss growling noise at wash cycle

The LG is known for the main motor bearings (2 small cheap) bearings that are of poor quality and become noisy (growls) after a period of time. I pulled the motor and replaced the Korean bearings with quality German equivalents. This is cheap and solves the problem. (the front bearing closest to the plastic pump is the culprit.

GE dishwasher model GLD4200 making a growling noise

I do not know of these machines but would say it sounds like bearings related to its rotating arm if it has to deal with water.
It would have a seal at the back before the bearings which has failed so water has leaked onto it causing rust to form in the bearing which builds up fuses the ball bearings together in clumps, make it hard to rotate so you get a grinding noise followed later by squeaks as things deteriorate.
So sadly it needs a service call out or it will grind to a halt, this happens say after a few days of non use letting the rust level build up.
You can use it but at some point it will not be able to rotate and it will just stop with some odd error message if it has that ability. Sorry for the answer.

Hope this helps...........

A humming or growling noise can sometimes be heard due to inadequate lubrication in either the inner or outer CV joint. Inspect the boot and see if it is cracked or split. This symptom is more often due to worn or damaged wheel bearings, a bad intermediate shaft bearing on equal length halfshaft transaxles, or due to worn shaft bearings within the transaxle.

Hope this helps and good luck!
