Question about Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 Smartphone

1 Answer

My touch screen has become increasingly unresponsive over the past couple of months. First, when I slid out my keyboard, the screen would not change to landscape. Later, when I slid out my keyboard, the screen would just go blank. More recently, if I slide out my keyboard, the phone would shut off. I then started to use the phone without the slide-out keyboard. Then the screen's touch sensitivity started going awry. I would have to go into settings and readjust the touch sensitivity and accuracy. Eventually, the touch screen stopped reacting altogether and I was left only with the keys at the bottom of the phone to make it work. Now, the screen is totally blank so I basically can't use the phone. Can this be fixed? It's an expensive phone. I'm willing to ship and pay for repairs, if necessary (at a reasonable cost). Thanks.

Hi,

There could be many reasons for the same. It could be a combination of multiple failures. Though it seems more suggestive of a firmware issue. however problem with motherboard or touch screen or blown IC on board could be there.

Yes, you could get it fixed. Look at :-

http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/support/servicelocator?cc=in&lc=en

Before you send the unit for repair, try to get the software updated from the above link. The above link would also have the information regarding the closest service center. It is always best to go to service center for Sony Ericson handsets.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

I had this problem about my touch screen same with you. The touch screen on left hand has stopped working. I had it for 20 months. I live in Thailand. I think that it is the big problem for ST550. I've brought it to Samsung Customer Center. and they've introduced me to change the new touch screen. It is about USD50.00. I am bored. I used it a little bit.

My iPod Touch has an unresponsive touch screen.

Try restoring it. Instructions are in the restore section of your iPod. If you restore it, don't update the iPod, because it seems that the update made your iPod unresponsive. It should be fine then. Good Luck!

My garmin nuvi 670 touch screen is not calibrated

Have you tried using the screen calibration command? Press the Wrench symbol, then the Display symbol and then Calibrate screen. Press the dots as it tells you to and you should now have a calibrated touchscreen.
