Hi,
You don't have to worry about that. Fan only runs when your CPU is heating up. If you are running a lot of programs at the same time it can heat the processor and can turn the fan on. Fan also runs a lot if computer performance is slow. If you can keep your CPU in a cooler place then it will run less.
Good Luck!

if its under the hood then it is your cooling fans

Temperature hand keeps moving up

when the engine is completely cool. first thing you need to do is check your coolant level. if it is full. then either your thermostat is bad, your cooling fans aren't working, radiator is plugged or heater core is plugged. but if the heat works and blows good and hot odds are nothing is plugged and its the cooling fans that aren't working. Worst case could be a bad head gasket

My westinghous side by side fridge keeps on tripping after every 3 hours .

Probably the result of the compressor being overworked, either because of an accumulation of dust and dirt on the bottom coils or a burned out fan. Both are relatively easy to fix yourself.

I preach the gospel of keeping your refrigerator clean. Accumulation of dirt and dust on the bottom coils can make your compressor build up enormous amounts of pressure in the line and make it VERY difficult to start and run. Clean the coils and while you've go the back off the refrigerator, make sure the fan is running when the refrigerator is running. If not, replace the fan.

Odds are that one of these two simple fixes (which you can do yourself) will fix the problem. If not, you'll probably have to call a repairman.

My cooling fan does not turn on unless i unplug it from the temperature sensor i have replace that sensor 3 times and it still does not work

Does it come on when the AC is on?
Odd .
Fan won't come on till like 230 degrees.
Or run a small ground wire from the relay to a switch inside.

My car keeps over heating only when in slow moving traffic or idle 2001 sunfire

Check to see if your cooling fan is working. At speeds above about 30 MPH, the fan is not needed. When you see the engine getting hot (if you have a gauge), then pull over, leave it idling, and open the hood and see if the fan is running. You should be able to see and hear it, just behind the radiator.
If the fan is not running, it is likely the fan relay has failed. It could be the fan thermostat or the fan motor itself, but odds are it is the relay. That is an inexpensive fix.

The fan keeps on going on and off..what could be wrong?

fan should be on all the time, this is odd , like it hase a poor contact at the switch or fan motor. if this is an older model , may be some corrosion, if newer, problem is cheap chineese switches

My Macbook fan keeps running

There may be high CPU usage by some program. It would be normal for the fan to run if the CPU usage is high. Check the Activity Monitor (found in utilities) to see if something odd is going on.

I had a problem where iPhoto quit working, and somehow was using 90%+ of the CPU. I could view the photos, but some operations did not work and the only way to exit was Force Quit. I had to remove and reload iPhoto.
