You did not specify what kind of AC you have, but there should be a drain hole or drain pan that needs to be emptied. Check the back of the unit.

Hi, I've just purchased a farm house with a Vulcan Bonaire evaporative cooler installed. My problem is that it leaves our tiled floors very wet, which is very slippery and dangerous.

replace the float valve in the water tray
evaporate coolers work by pumping water onto a screen through which air is blown
the hot air evaporates the water in the screen and the air out is cooler
works very well in hot dry climates but not so well when the humidity is above 80%

its more likely to be the drain hole for the shuttle, were the heater gets it air feed from there will be a drain for the water to get out, can get blocked with leaves etc, you may need to get your hand down there and pull out the rubbish and poke your finger in the hole to push the debris out.

Wet and tried to let air out when i turned on says ipod disabled 5899655 mins try again

I would ignore the first posted answer and consider putting the ipod into DFU mode and doing a restore before cracking it open and replacing the battery. The previous answer has no logical explanation or remedy to fix it.

Depending on how "wet" it got, sometimes people have had luck with placing the ipod into a ziplock bag with dry white rice or silica gel bags (little bags that come in electronic packages to absorb moisture) it may take three to four days but it has worked for some. Never attempt to turn on a wet device until thoroughly dry first. Good luck to ya.

Does your floor only get wet after rainfall? If so check all the door/window seals; especially in the back. If that is not the case then have someone blow out your a/c drain with compressed air the next time you are wet to see if a quantity of water comes out.

Air coming out of an adobeair portable evap cooler isnt cold

paula298,
A new unit will take a while for the pad to become wet and more efficient. Remember, there may be two switches: fan and water pump. The unit must be full of water and the pump ON to work correctly.

If the unit has a water pump only setting, run the pump without the fan for about 20 minutes. That will get the pads nice and wet and you should get a good result. A rule of thumb in the desert is 20 to 25 degrees of cooling compared to the ambient air.

Don't use a cooler in closed area. The cooler will simply act like a room humidifier. Use in an open garage or porch for the best result.

I hope that helps.

Just received sunpentown sf 616 evaporative air cooler

Sounds like you have a hole in the tubing somewhere within the unit. You will need to remove it and take it outdoors and start it up to trace where the water is coming from.
