Malfunctioning heating element is prime suspect obviously but it could be the temperature sensor which is stuck.
One way of hopefully getting around the problem is first to ensure the washer is empty then pour the contents of a boiling kettle into it. That can sometimes kick the temperature sensing device into correct action. It's worth a try anyway before having to call in the repair man ;-0)
If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

You will need to type into your search engine/web browser '(make) washer manual' and you should be presented with a number of sources from which you can either download for free or have to pay a nominal amount. During the process you will be asked for the actual model number!
It is often difficult to obtain other than ordinary user manuals from the manufacturers;I understand that technical ones are normally only provided to service engineers
Good luck,

Washer dryers often have cold
water valves with 3 separate solenoids. One for the main wash and
rinses (which is clearly ok) and one for the condition rinse (to take
the fabric conditioner down) which is probably ok too, and the 3rd one
is for the dryer. It's possible this 3rd solenoid has failed.
Washer
dryers need on a steady trickle of cold water running into the
condenser chamber to convert the steam into water, which then gets
pumped down the drain.
The big door seal is probably the problem. Put on gloves and using a solution of Laundry detregent and hot water and rags, carefully wipe clean all the folds of the seal. It will be icky. Next run a cycle with some detergent and oxyclean or bleach if you have it.
Especially during warm weather, damp clothing left in a front loader mildew slightly very quickly- you can't really see much but you can smell it! So get the clothes in to the dryer immediately. You'll want to relaunder the smelly clothing after you have cleaned the washer.
