Question about DISH Network 311 DTV Receiver

1 Answer

Hello, Some of the channels on my 311 receiver's Guide show the program listings behind or ahead of the correct time. Other channels are OK. This is the case at all times even after a fresh download of the Guide and it is always the same channels.

Hello, Tommy Faust with DISH Network here. I'm sorry your guide is showing you incorrect information.

What may fix it is a hard reset where you unplug the receiver from the power outlet for 15 seconds and plug back in. If that doesn't work then try a check switch test. Go into Menu - 6 (System Setup) - 1 (Installation) - 1 (Point Dish) and select check switch then select test.

If you are still having the issue or any further questions feel free to ask here.

To see if the problem is with your remote control, go to the receiver and use the channel up/down buttons on the receiver itself. If you can change your channels with the buttons on the receiver, the batteries in your remote control probably need to be changed.

If you can't change channels from the receiver, turn off the receiver. Then unplug it for at least 15 seconds. Plug the receiver back it and turn it on. Again, try changing channels from the receiver itself.

Tune to a channel, and while programming is playing, try tuning to the missing channel by entering the channel number on the remote control keypad to see if channels change. Do not try to select the channel from a channel list, program guide, or favorites list.

If this approach takes you to the correct channel, you need to adjust your favorites list function. Press the "guide" button on your remote. Look for a button on your remote called "fav" or "list." Press it several times and watch for an indication at the top of the guide that you are moving from "all channels" to a particular favorites list.

If you are locked on one channel only, your Channel Lock feature is likely active. Consult your owner's manual to unlock the rest of your channels. See your owner's manual for information on managing favorite channel lists and locking out channels. Enter your password, if necessary.

Hey there, my name is Cheri Torres with DISH Network Customer Service. I wanted to see if I could help you with this issue you are having. I have a few questions I would need you to answer in order to give you the best possible answer on fixing your issue. When you try to input the channel number in the remote does it go to the channel or does it skip to the next available channel? If you are able to get to the channel do you receive any error messages and if so what is the three digit number in the top right corner of the message? The first trouble shooting step you are going to want to try if you have already not is pressing the guide button to pull up your program guide. Once you are in the program guide you will see list at the top left of the screen make sure your list is either ALL SUB or ALL CHAN. If your list is on something other then this you are going to want to press the guide button continuously until it is on ALL SUB or ALL CHAN. If this does not fix your issue the next step you are going to want to try is unplugging your receiver from the power source outlet for 10 seconds then plug it back in. If both options are not working I would like you to contact me to that we can try some further trouble shooting steps. My email address is Cheri.Torres@Dishnetwork.com, you can send me an email with your account number, phone number and name on the account and I would be happy to assist you further. Thanks! :)

It would be our pleasure in helping you get those missing channels back. The first thing we want to do is press guide button twice to display "Favorites List" option. Press guide button to rotate through selections until "All Sub" is selected. By selecting All Subs the programming guide will only display the channels that you are subscribed to. If you are still not getting those missing channels we need to check some things on our side; please give us a call at 1-800-333-DISH (3474) or use or online chat too here: http://goo.gl/QR0vg.

We hope this helps. Thanks for choosing DISH Network!

My dish remote wont connect to the dish reciever

If you have a single mode receiver, you need to open the panel in front and push system info.
A channel number will appear near the bottom of the list of information... it may be between 1 and 15. Push the record button on your remote control. (the black button with the red dot). If the channel number changed, then your remote and receiver are not on the same channel. Assume your channel was #1. when you first pushed sys info. You need to program your remote to #1. On your remote, push the Sat button until all other top buttons light up. enter the digit 1 and then the # key. Press the record button 4 times. You have to make sure you have the correct color key inserted in the remote control. If you have a dual mode receiver, one remote key will be green, and the second channel remote will have a blue key. Go to the Dish network website tech portal ...Google will help you find it, for complete instructions from the horse's mouth.
