Foot pedal on my berninca active 135 not responding

My foot control began working sporadically so we replaced the brushes in the foot control. It's a pain (hold your breath and hope you don't break any plastic latches), but it worked. You could also consider replacing it.

Have an industrial singer 31K20 and plate no is Y9279937 and i am trying to buy needles for it. THe broken needle is 19/120 but i dont know if they need to be 135/17 or 135/7 - or doesnt it matter

any sewing rade shop will have an assortment of needles
they will be able to advise you on the correct needle to use for different materials that can be sewn
there is a site on the net that explains the needle sizing and uses
go google and type in--- needles for industrial sewing machines ---
pick the information for singer or read what is pertinent to singer

Free print manual

there are Bernina manuals as pdf's on their website, www.bernina.com, then go to Support, choose your manual in the drop down box and download it. There is not one there for the Activa 130 but the 135 is there and the 125, both will be very close to your mode.

Buzzing Bernina Activa 135, possible bad service?

First of all, the question is: does that machine buzz when it's turned on but without you stepping on the foot control? If so, the likely cause is the power supply board. It is not defective as such, but some boards (whether new or after some period of ownership) do have a buzz, and without question some boards are noiser than others. If that buzz bothers you, the only solution would be to have it replaced with another new or rebuilt one (which would have to be done through a Bernina dealer).

Second is the issue of the bobbin area needing to be oiled after it's been serviced. Assuming when you say it was serviced that it means you had the machine tuned-up, then the dealer THEMSELVES should have oiled this area when they did that service. The bobbin area does need to be oiled on a regular basis (once every 6-8 bobbins' worth of thread usage is a pretty good guide). It would be my opinion that the dealer you took the machine to is indeed feeding you a line (about the bobbin oiling right after service), and I personally would be trying another dealer should you need further service.
