Why does drain motor start when pushing the start button on the door before the door is closed?

It's almost certainly the float switch in the bottom of the machine. In the bottom is a polystyrene 'float' that is either active due to water in the bottom or is faulty. Tip your machine to the side and remove water and try again, bridge or replace switch is also an option

Bosch Dishwasher won't fill with water

Certainly *sounds* like the float is stuck in the over filled position
or possible a bad float switch, if the float is stuck in the up or full position, the d/w will not fill with water and the drain motor will often run all the time

Cycle starts, but does not fill with water

When I start a new cycle, I first hear the pump run to empty out all remaining water, and after that I hear the motor run for the regular washing cycle, but there is no water in the dishwasher. After a few minutes, the cycle stops, and the washer claims the dishes are 'clean'. When I try starting a new cycle over and over again, about one in 20 times, the cycle will run normally with water. But then the next time, the problem starts all over again. Once a cycle starts correctly, everything works fine, including the rinsing.

by the descrition you are giving you will need to replace the main control board.Part number 154568401.you may also need to check the float switch. The part will run about 110.00 dollars from a local parts store

DISHWASHER GE PDW7800J00BB DOES NOT WASH ,FILLS WITH WATER BUT NO WASH

It is unclear from your description if the wash pump starts and pushes the water around but never stops cycle or the dishwasher stops as soon as the water is filled.

If you do not hear the wash pump start then it is possible the wash motor is faulty. But if the wash pump starts and never completes the wash cycle then it is possible the heater is faulty and dishwasher is waiting for water to heat up before it can go to next cycle.

See the attached diagram for location of wash pump motor and heater.

Hope this helps you find the problem. Please rate the solution if you found it useful.

My dishwasher starts fills water and never starts wash cycle?

If you hear a hum when it should be washing, the motor has seized. Replace motor. If it fills with water and stops quite, run it through a test using the tech sheet under the bottom panel to access. These dishwasher have had issues with the motor.

Diswaher fills with water and then I hear a buzzing sound on the capacitor next to the motor. The motor does not turn on to spay in the dishwasher.

Hi tonyh514,

I'm Harvey the Master Plumber.

Your problem is: Diswaher fills with water and then you hear a buzzing sound on the capacitor next to the motor. The motor does not turn on to spay in the dishwasher.

Sorry, it sounds like the motor's starting capacitor has failed. The unit must be removed from the cabinet to allow for easy access. With some models you can change it out, others you change both the capacitor and motor. I don't recomend this repair to the average homeowner. You might consider the Repair Directory for a repairman.

FILLS BUT NO CYCLE

You need to check for 110 vac at the main motor after the diswasher fills. If you do then replace the motor and if not then you need a computer.
