Problem with the black cartridge. If you have another one, try it.
If not, you need a tech to look at it.

Are your carts all Epson or are they off-brand?
If one particular cart isn't being detected, it may be defective.

How to fix error replace/print cartrage in xerox 440ps If this error is cartrage chip or tonners, i have not availble chip while tonner is available. if problam is chip, what is tricks & tips


You will be wasting money buying just a chip. The toner and all is in the cartridge. Normally when the replace message comes on, the cartridge is shot.

Empty Ink Cartrage message when cartrage still has a lot of ink.


I'm going to provide you a solution worth many dollars now you can use your left over half filled cartidges and in future also use the cartridges to the extreme.
1. Go to menu and select manual override for toner cartridges and then only replace toner when the print quality starts to suffer. This can save you thousands of dollars over the life of this fine printer.
