Ma phone fell into a bucket of water and turned off. i let it dry for a couple of days and turned it on, luckily it turned on, but the default security code did not work. so i re-formated the phone, but still it doesn't work. i tried 12345, 00000, 01234, 98765. nothing seems to work, the phone is about 1 and half years old...

You are probably sol, but i have read that placing it in a zipoloc baggie with dry rice for a few days can dry it out. However if the water shorted out circuitry (very likely) the phone might make an attractive paperweight.
Wet Cell Phone Immediately remove the phone from the water, turn off the cell phone, remove the battery and SIM card. To dry out the cell phone put it in a large plastic bag with silica gel drying crystals then put it in a warm sunny place for several days or in front of a warm fan heater for several hours. Reassemble the phone and hope it will work properly again, but if does not work then it is faulty and you need a new cell phone.
water has entered into the phone and you need to get the phone fully dried for it to work well again. I mean, there mustn't be any water inside the phone before it will turn on.
Remove the battery and clean it very well. After that, get a phone screw driver, unscrew all the phone screws, remove the phone cover in order to gain access to the phone panel. Gently remove/detach the screen from the phone board.
Get a methylated spirit and a soft tooth brush, dip the tooth brush into the spirit and use the brush to clean the phone board. Wash/brush every part of the board with the spirit.
After that, dry the board under an electric bulb or under sunlight. Allow it to dry very well. Let the board get hot. Then leave the board for 5mins or more to cool.
After that, couple back the phone, fix in the battery and try again. Then phone will definitely power on.
Let me know if it does not power on so that I can direct you on what to do next.
hello, all you need to do is just to dry up the panel first and also seperate the battery from the phone for at least a day, after that is done make sure the phones panel is fully dry,it could be under a bulb or in the sun.after that is done you can then put the battery in the phone before powering it on.
DO NOT USE HEAT. You will damage the tiny components of your phone.
The best thing to do is that the moment you get water in your phone, disassemble it. Remove the battery as soon as possible. this is very important. Then, open the casing and seperate whatever you can, like the memory card, the back cover, the keypad etc. Shake out any water that you can from the openings. When you shake it you will most probably get some water out.
Now, use a dry cloth to dry your phone. Dry as much as you can.
Next, take a bowl and fill it with dry, uncooked rice. Yes, rice. :) Put your unassembled cellphone in this bowl. All of its parts should be in the rice. Now leave this overnight atleast. If possible, leave it for 2 days.
Then, assemble your phone again. It should work fine now. Atleast mine did. :)
Hope it works for you too.
Plus, as you have already done the first part and dried it, just leave it open under a fan etc overnight and it will work fine.
