Message of back cover open

If you turn the printer off and then back on with a paper jam in it you will get this error message instead of a paper jam message. To clear the paper jam from the back of the printer read the instructions from here: http://welcome.solutions.brother.com/BSC/public/us/us/en/faq/faq/000000/000600/000096/faq000696_001.html?reg=us&c=us&lang=en&prod=mfc7820_all&Cat=11

Tray is not feeding paper properly. Its making a weird clicking noise when paper is being fed. Paper gets jammed on most attempts.

Remove the paper tray and try to see some paper jammed somewhere around it. When pulling off paper jam. Just pull gently and slowly so that you can remove all and nothing left behind and doesn't damage the part when removing unwanted paper jam. Maybe it is the cartridge just repalce new cartridge if not the fuser drum maybe damage.

I cannot get the BACK COVER OPEN message to GO AWAY. I tried to open the back black cover and check to see if there were any paper jam and i also opened the front cover and ejcted the ink toner and no...

There is a little cover there that has a sensor flag on it. It is most likely in a jammed position. If you are able to carefully take the cover out, you can bend it slightly, readjust the sensor flag, and reinstall it.

Thanks

How do you remoce the drum to clear a paper jam on

Lift the top, remove the toner and open the access panel in the back, remove the printer tray. You should be able to see the full path the printer takes from start to finish. Rarely do you need to take anything else apart. If these areas are clear as the printer will attempt to clear jams when you start it up.

Constant paper jams

For the accordion jam, open the back panel. You'll see two screws on the left and on the right. Unscrew them and try to take out the part with the small plastic roller out. Clean the rollers. Then you'll see another rubber roller on the ceiling of that part. Clean them with a damp cloth and rubbed them gently. Then screw back the part you took out and close everything back up. That should clear the jam.

Continual paper jams in rear of printer

If the paper is jamming at the exit rollers, you will be need to clean the rubber on the rollers. It gets shiny and does not grip the paper to take it away.

Had same problem. Closer inspection revealed bit of paper out of sight. Removed the toner cartridge and worked to free torn paper. Then restart. Hope it helps.

Constant Paper Jam

I have the accordion paper jam problem as well, almost all the printout got jammed. So I opened the back panel and unscrew 2 screws and take out the part with the small plastic roller and clean those. Then I also see a rubber roller on the ceiling of that area and cleaned and rubbed them with a damp cloth and rolled them several times. Now it's been 2 weeks of jam free printing! Back to being happy customer...
