I have refilled mine for years. Although the printer may intermittently complain about being low, all you have to do is hit the ok button and you are all set.<br /><br />I understand that there is a way to reset the printer by tricking it into thinking you have a different cartridge. <br /><br />http://www.refillinstructions.com/HP/H29.htm<br /><br />I have never tried this (putting tape on some of the contact points in a certain sequence) so try it at you own discretion. I would also really clean the contact points with alcohol / Q-tip of any tape glue left behind. You DON'T want to gum up you contact points in the printer or you will be sorry.<br /><br />Me... I'll just keep hitting the ok button.<br /><br />All the best and good luck!... SilverFoxDan <br /><br />

Reset a hp 74xl printe cartridge

If this is OEM ink and not Genuine INK then you got to play it by ear. WARNING refilled ink does damage the print head in this unit and can cause undisired effects. If you have been using refilled ink for a while then your damage is already in its begining stages. But the indicator on these cannot be reset to estimate the ink because it does nto have a chip resetter in it. Thanks

How to reset printer after refill ink for cannon

Dear Sir,

Ignore the low ink warning, the printer should still print after about 30 seconds or hit resume on the printer.

You will get this warning every time you print. There is no way to reset those cartridges. Thanks For YOur Time

How do i refill the ink myself cannon mp520

You need to reset or replace the ink level monitoring chip on these cartridges for refills to work. I know some refill kit sellers don't like to mention this to people before they buy the ink. Otherwise, I would recommend Cartridge World for ink refills because it can be messy to fill these cartridges and they always reset the chips for you.

Pixima i4500 not able to use refilled inks

You can't reset the machine but the place where you buy ink should have the reset chips, or a chip resetter device that will reset the ink carts so you can refill them and use them in your printer.

Canon MP610 ink refill

Without the resetter it will continue to give error codes, holding the resume button for 5-10 seconds sometimes will turn off ink level reporting, but you either need the resetter or to purchase and install reset circuit boards on each cartridge you refill.

Printer refills

Some refills won't work on some printers, because the printer actually reads a chip on the print cartridge, a good refil will have been reset, if you did it yourself, or if the company you bought it from did apply the chip reset device on it, the printer will never allow you to use it, thanks HP for the wonderful idea grrr. Be careful with refills anyhow, because some printers use easy clogging ink and refills can be dangerous.

Ink low error

Hi there the ink cartridges are designed to be used once. Most of these new ink cartridges have a set chip on it once you have installed a new cartridge it registers that a new one has been installed and resets the ink counter for that cartridge. When you refill the cartridge it doesn't reset the chip.

I don't know how to reset the chip but the best suggestion I can offer is to purchase a compatible cartridge that has been reset.

Thanks J
