Drivers here http://www.simpletech.com/support/support_downloads.php
However this is from Microsoft
Effective July 11, 2006, Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition, and Windows Me (and their related components) will transition to a non-supported status. After this date, Microsoft will no longer provide any incident support options or security updates. Microsoft is not offering a custom support agreement for these products.
In other words, it is no longer safe to use this OS connected to the internet.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

My windows 7 64 bit system cannot recognize this drive. BOM: 96200-41001-052

Could be one of two things,is the Drive new?? If so go here, you'll have to format it for use..
http://www.fixya.com/support/r4990659-find_newly_installed_harddrive_in
Could also be a Driver, check device manager, your looking for a yellow triangle with a question mark,it'll be listed under Disk drives,if so go here and run what I have listed as number 3.

Hi, I have a simpletech/hitachi signature 160 gb external hard drive. It was fne until yesterday. Suddenly, my laptop is not recognizing it. what do I do?

Connect it to a different computer.
If it works, then connecting to _your_ computer is the problem.
If it does not work, then either:
* the USB-to-disk-drive adapter inside the casing has failed, or,
* the disk-drive inside the casing has failed.

Open the case, and remove the disk-drive, and connect it as a "slave" disk-drive in your computer, to see if the disk-drive itself is "good" or "bad".

Google-search for "Data Recovery Services" -- these are commercial, high-cost, companies, that can temporarily repair a "dead" disk-drive, just long enough to try to copy all the files from the disk onto a new disk-drive.

I plug my Simpletech Signature Mini hard drive in but than I don't know what to do from there.

When you plug the drive in, Windows should recognize it and make it immediately available for your use.

To confirm this, click Start then Computer and it should show up as a device with removable storage. If you click on the Signature drive, you will see the contents of the drive and you can use it just as ou would your "C:" drive.
