Sorry, according to the repair manual, you need the recovery disk even if you use F11 option to reset everything to factory.

I need to know how to restore a emachine desk top to factory settings without a disk

Without a disk you can either pick up some kind of cleaner for your computer and use that while also removing whatever programs you have installed that are not necessary. Or you could format the hard drive and reinstall your operating system if you have a different operating system to install.

Restore emachine W1136 desktop to factory settings without disc

I guess you can try it again to make it not able to start up such as to rename some important windows file. Always a good option to backup first.

You can chat with emachine tech on the following page.
http://emachines.com/support/answers.html

They might be glad to help. Someone might be always a little bit more courteous than others. You can reward them a most satisfactory feedback anyways.

Someone tried the Alt+F10 to get that restore option, I guess it might work with your emachine too. You might like to try it while starting up the system too.

Something to try if you didn't.
(1) Go to start menu
(2) Click on all programs
(3) click on Emachine
(4) click on Emachine recovery management
(5) Click on restore on the bar across the top
(6) click on restore to system factory default

Did you try the number key while starting up or the R key or maybe with the Alt key? Hope that help.

How do I factory restore an Emachine w3609?

Hi there.
If there is no option to press F11 as the computer starts then you are going to have to purchase a recovery disk for that machine or purchase a Windows installation disk to fully reset it to factory
