We have Mitsubishi WS-55511. We unplugged it to move it yesterday and when we plugged it back in, it will not power on. The green light just keeps blinking on the front panel? System reset doesn't help? Any ideas?

ONLY 1 of 2 things can cause this problem----

First thing to do is remove front speaker grill--it should pull out and is secured with plastic pegs--behind it you will find an inspection plate---

Notice the one or two pairs of wires coming from the front keyboard of the set---remove the inspection plate and follow the wires to the right--you can unplug both plugs(most have two and they are marked with letters and different sizes so you cannot get them wrong)

The idea here is to remove the front keyboard with its reset button etc from the circuit---You will still be able to try to turn the set on with the remote---

These sets have a Receiver that is called a DM board--(large metal box to the left as you look from the back) and if the power goes out the green light will blink for about 70 seconds and then go out---it is the Receiver booting up. It is called the DM board.

If disconnecting the keyboard allows the set to turn on--you have a bad reset switch and two choices---either operate the set only with the remote or to remove the front screen and get at the reset switch (it is tiny) and remove and/or replace it.

If disconnecting the keyboard does not restore the set to operation---the receiver is bad---there are 4 or more caps and some pico fuses that can fail in that unit---Mitsubishi no longer sells or repairs these--if it is bad and not the caps there is a company you can send the unit to and have it repaired--if you need to know their name let me know---

You can call them and get a quote for repairing the receiver.

Let me know what more information you need--I am here to help.

If this told you something you did not know rate this solution as very helpful as I do this here for free.

Green timer light on WS-55511 keeps blinking

You have a bad Power board. Unplug your T.V. Take off the back cover. There is a silver box on the left. Disconnect all the wires coming out of that box from the other boards. (These are all labeled on the connectors) (Thanks Mitsubishi ((the only company that really does this but engineers poorly otherwise.)) After you get this mini jungle out, take the screws off that box. You're gonna see 8 capacitors. Replace those with 8 new 1000uf at the same voltage listed on them. Make sure when you do this you know which side all the negative legs go. After you replace all 8 of them in proper polarity, this issue is fixed and you saved 280 dollars.
Reconnect the wires appropriately in the spots you found em. Put the back cover on. Take 4 steps back when you plug this in so you can see what blows up, and voila, your T.V. should power right back on as if you had spend 15 dollars to fix it.

I have a WS-55511 rear projection TV. We had a power outage in the area and the TV will not power at all. Could this be a blown fuse?

if the green power light just blinks that is one issue==========if the green power light does not come on at all suspect a fuse----follow the power cord (set unplugged) into the set and plug in ac fuse is right there.

If you have the blinking light that will not stop it means the DM unit in the set was damaged and that is expensive.

If you need more information or have questions let me know with a comment here.

Yesterday we had a power outage. When the power came back on, my TV would not work. The green light on the front just keeps flashing quickly. I tried unplugging it, and I unhooked all devices from it as...

Thats caused by weak capacitors on the DM board. They drain when the power is lost then they cant recharge after power is restired. You can get the dm repair kit for your model at www.tvrepairworld.com it contains the repair instructions and the upgraded caps plus other service info on the cd

I have a mitsubishi model WS-55511. The green light keeps blinking. Have reset by unpluging and then pluging back in and holding the reset but for 5 seconds and press the power button. worked once, but...

TWO possible reasons for the blinking light:

1. The DM unit (caps and or fuses) are bad---no longer made and only (to my knowledge) PTS electronics repairs/rebuilds them.

2. Less likely but Possible: remove front speaker grill and inspection plate behind it----locate the two bundles of wires from front keyboard on set and follow them down and to the right---unplug both plugs and plug set in and wait 70 plus seconds and try to turn set on with Mitsubishi remote.

The blinking light is the DM trying to boot up--if set works with front keyboard unplugged---the tiny reset switch on it is bad.

If set does NOT work that way DM UNIT IS BAD.

Mitsubishi ws-55511 does not turn on

Listen: you need to wait for the set to first shut off! then push on the TV(not the remote) Input and Menu both at the same time for 5 seconds and then release---the power light will then blink---this model has this feature--
