My washer makes a heavy noise on spin cycle, as if I had put a brick in it. It's only 6 years old.

If it's a front load washer, buy a new washer, the spider gear is gone.usually it's from using to much detergent.there's very little water that gets used in the front load washers so you only use very lttle detergent,it eats the gear in the back of the washer, open the door and push on the tub,if it moves all around with ease then i wouldn't use it,i've seen the boot rip off and water leak everywhere, also you could have broke a shock but it brakes from the spider gear being damaged.sorry to give you the bad news but get a new washer, the spider gear costs around 500 bucks, next time watch the cd that comes with the washer and do what it says and cut back on the detergent

Washer wont spin in the spin cycle.Washer was full of water and making a buzzing noise. If you have any suggestions what it might be that would be great. Kenmore 80 series washer about 11 years old.

sounds like the lower bearing on the trans mission shaft is seizing up on you. had a frigedair that did the same thing. i took it apart to replace, but could not buy separate. it only came with a purchase of a new transmission, which ran $175- 275. so i junked it out. washer was only 5 years old.

Duet Washer spin cycle makes noise

if it was from a heavy load more than likely 2 screws came off of the tripod on the back of the metal basket.

take of the front lower panel of the washer and clean out the drain pump, if the screws came out they should be in there. to actually fix the problem you would have to take the entire tub assembly out and apart to get to the baskside of themetal basket.

but in general, its not that hard to fix if you are mechanical savvy. i fixed mine myself and im a 27 yo female who has never looked inside a washer before this experience.

Clanking noise during spin cycle

I was told by 3 technicians that my washer had shot bearings and this is a common problem for the Kenmore Elite Front loader.

Sears knows it and will not do anything about it except try to sell you a new washer since it costs $800 to replace the unit with the bearings.

GE WPXH214ACC Washer drum makes loud noise when spinning sometimes. We've had it since 2005 & never had this happen before. Washer is level, must stop & redistribute clothes to correct. Just started happening now.
