Check fan in the freezer to see if it is working, if it is, check if compressor and fan on the back bottom of unit are working and make sure condenser is clean.

If all the mentioned items are working fine, the evaporator coil is frozen and do not let cool air flow. Unplug unit from wall, remove freezer back panel, ({where fan is), and use a heat gun or hair dryer to defrost evaporator coil.making sure the air ducts to the fridge are clear. Plug unit back and set temp. about 1/3 of the range for both, the fridge and the freezer, wait 24 hrs to re-adjust.

If it happens again, have the defrost timer and heating element checked.

Keep me posted!!

Refrig side not cooling....freezer side operating fine

Check that the damper vent that sends cold air from the freezer into the fresh food side is not blocked by contents. Check that the damper is opening to allow cool air to transfer. Put the fridge into diagnostic mode to check the thermistors.

Water stopped and freezer not cooling

you probably have a bad evap fan motor in the freezer compartment. when this motor goes bad it doesnt distribute the cold air around causin subfreezing temp in the bottom of the freezer it then migrates into the fresh food compartment. you can order the motor by the mod# of your refrig and it is fairly easy to change yourself. good luck peyton

A week ago I discovered the fridge part was not cooling but the freezer part seemed fine. I emptied the fridge and turned off to defrost. The top part of the freezer was heavily encased in ice (evaporate coils I think). After perusing the web for advice I removed the the front vent, the back wall and dropped the coil panel to access the fan. The fan had obviously not been working for some time cos it was covered in ice. I defrosted the whole fridge for 2 days. Turned it back on and the freezer part seems fine although v cold. The fridge seems not to be cooling again. The compressor seems to be constantly running. Current temps are fridge 12, freezer -25, ambient 16. I haven't got anything in the freezer yet. Thermostat set on 1 (1-6 setting). How is the fridge cooled? When I removed the evap panel I could not see how cold air gets to the fridge. There aren't any holes in the fridge so I am assuming the back panel should be cooled. If the thermostat is u/s would the compressor still run? Does the thermostat control any duct vv from freezer to fridge back panel? I attempted to remove some of the insulation from the fridge rear but was worried about cutting anything under it so abandoned that. Wife now giving me grief. Pse help. Andy
