Did you pull the power cord from the wall outlet or the back of the copier? I have seen the removable cords come loose from the back of the copier so check that. There are fuses on the power supply that could have blown so those can be checked as well. Power failures such as you initiated can always blow a power supply as the machine is drawing current while running and when the power to the supply gets cut off it can cause a very short term high current draw on the power supply causing components to fail. Next time something like this happens just use the on/off switch to eliminate power supply damage.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

Document feeder jam

Try cleaning the rollers with a bit of rubbing alcohol/water solution, equal parts. There should be a pair of them, one on each side of where the paper is fed.

Paper jams - Kodak Printers

Up to two pages can be force fed through before the machine stops taking the pages and a paper jam error report is generated.

Inside the document feeder are two small levers near the middle of the paper path. One will be near the first roller to tell the machine that there's a sheet waiting to be pulled. The other will be an inch or two farther in, to tell it the paper has reached the scanner glass. If one of those levers is sticky, the machine will "think" it's feeding a very long continuous sheet. After a couple of feet or so, it reaches its programed limit and gives up to prevent tying up the phone line on an endless fax call when the document is jammed.

Open the feeder, find those levers, and make sure they move at the slightest touch. If one won't pop back up every time, it will give the symptoms you described. It may be as simple as a tiny scrap of paper wrapped over it, jamming it in its slot.

If the levers move freely, you may have a bad optical sensor underneath.

My fax is having a problem feeding pages through the document feeder, it doesn't always grad the page, and if it doesn't get it, it acts like it has a paper jam, what is causing this?

Open the document feeder. Inside you will find a grey feed roller. Cleaning this roller with a cloth dampened with water will help with these paper jams in the document feeder.

the problem is in the scanner, open it up and see if you can find any smudges, and clean any obstruction, any ink, liquid eraser residuals, can cause this part to appear as lines on your copied faxed image.
dont concentrate on the printer this is a scanner problem

Sounds like there is something going on with the paper sensor flag that resides in the top cover of the automatic document feeder. Need to make sure it is moving freely. It is spring loaded so it should move freely and spring back in to place. Sounds like your may be sticking in the up position after a few sheets. When the ADF lid is down these sensor flags should go in to holes in the bottom of the ADF. Hope this helps..

Document jam

There is most likely a very small piece of paper in the document feeder.
What you can do is take a minella folder or some card stock, open the document feeder cover and shove the folder or card stock through the feeder to dislodge whatever is stuck in there.
The document sensor itself may be knocked out of position.
It can't be the copy paper path since you can print.
