Question about Probasics Digit-Ox Finger Pulse Oximeter

1 Answer

My mother has a Digit Pulse Oxymeter and I was wondering how one knows if the %oxygen is reading correctly. Lately all her readings are always 97%. Very little variation.

The normal oxygen saturation in the body read by the any pulse oximeter whether it is portable or built in type is 95%-100%. If ***********'s oxygen reading as you have said is 97% definitely it is within the normal range. You can also check and make sure that your oximeter is working by placing the oximeter to your finger. If the pulse read by the oximeter is the same with your heartbeat it means that is working alright and the oxygen reading would fall between 95-100%. I hope my answers will help you.

How do I open battery compartment & install batteries in ChoiceMMed Oxywatch CF309 which is a Pulse Oxymeter

I have the same model. Flip unit ove so you can see bottom. Hold your thumb on the side with the arrows (but don't wrap your thumb around too much. Just enough to hold that side.) Hold the other side with your index finger. Squeeze thumb and finger together while pulling back towards you on Thumb side. Hope that helps.

How to stop reading from HO2S system??

This soft ware will have to be entered by a laptop connected to the data read plug. Service centres that do CPU programs will most likely this software and can do it for you. I can see problems with fuel consumption and performance along with the legal requirements for the traffic branch.

What is an 02 sensor

O2 is the chemical designation for oxygen. The engine computer monitors the oxygen content in the exhaust stream to determine if the air-fuel ratio is correct, and uses the information to set the pulse width of the injectors-wider pulse equals more fuel sprayed into cylinders, shorter pulse means less fuel.
The sensor is very reliable (when they are good and not contaminated) in finding the oxygen content. Too much oxygen in the exhaust means the air-fuel ratio is too lean-needs more gas. Too little oxygen means the ratio is too rich, so computer will trim back the injector pulse width.

The system works very well at keeping the theoretically correct "stoichiometric ratio" of 14.7 parts air to 1 part fuel for complete combustion in the cylinders. You will find the computer uses "short term fuel trim" to hover just above and just below the correct ratio of fuel and air-so the oxygen sensor is always switching back and forth between lean and rich signals, constantly. Technicians use this to determine computer and sensor are operating correctly. If lean-rich switching is not occuring at a fast enough rate, it points to a problem . What is called a "lazy o2 sensor" is one that doesn't switch fast enough-one that needs replacing. Oil or carbon deposits can also contaminate the sensors, ruining their effectiveness. And sometimes they just quit working.

Check Engine light with Po131 o2 circuit low voltage sensor 1 bank 1 reading, what does that mean?

- Front Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 1 harness is open or shorted
- Front Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 1 circuit poor electrical connection
- Faulty Front Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 1
- Inappropriate fuel pressure
- Faulty fuel injectors
- Intake air leaks may be faulty
- Exhaust gas leaks

Replacing the O2 Sensor 1 usually takes care of the problem

The front heated oxygen sensor (or O2 sensor 1) is placed into the exhaust manifold. It detects the amount of oxygen in the exhaust gas compared to the outside air. The heated oxygen sensor 1 has a closed-end tube made of ceramic zirconia. The zirconia generates voltage from approximately 1V in richer conditions to 0V in leaner conditions. The heated oxygen sensor 1 signal is sent to the Engine Control Module (ECM). The ECM adjusts the injection pulse duration to achieve the ideal air-fuel ratio. The ideal air-fuel ratio occurs near the radical change from 1V to 0V.

My wrist cuff monitor seems to be reading low. Is there a way to get it checked or calibrated?

The next time you go to your doctor, take the wrist cuff monitor with you. As they always do, the nurse or doctor will check you vital signs. After they do that and they've told you what your blood pressure and pulse readings are, correctly place the cuff monitor on your wrist and check you BP and Pulse with it. Compare the reading from the cuff monitor to what your doctor got. If it's within a few points, it's no big deal. If it's way off, than there's a problem with the cuff.

Remember, whenever using a cuff monitor, always keep your wrist at heart level for the most accurate reading. Once it's activated, remain completely still and don't move your wrist, until it has finished cycling.

I doubt in correctness of reading,my age 58

If you are doubting the Blood Pressure and Pulse readings, there must be a reason for these doubts. But, you failed to explain why you doubted it. Does the BP reading seem unusually high or low? Is the pulse rate, what you expected it to be? Keep in mind, age doesn't always play a huge role in hypertension. It's your general overall health, eating habits, smoking, drinking, etc. In other words, you overall life style, as well as your family's medical history.

These wrist monitors are fairly accurate if applied to the wrist correctly, you keep your wrist at heart level and you don't move during the time that monitor is operating.

If you have doubts, take the monitor with you to your next doctor's appointment. They will probably check your BP with an arm cuff. After they do that, use your wrist monitor correctly and compare it to what the reading was with the doctor's reading. One or two points difference is not a big deal. More than that is.

Hope this helps.

PO174 HOW TO CLEAR THE CODE

P0174 is SYSTEM LEAN BANK 2. If you do not have any rough running or missfires. Check for any vacumm hoses that may be damaged or loose. Any code that is set on OBDII has to be cleared with code reader. If you have any rough running or mussfires, check fuel injectors for proper operation. If this helps, please rate.

No reading for the blood oxygen level

OK - I had the exact same problem. I cleaned the inside of the oximeter with a cotton swab and denatured alcohol. Then tried it. It did not work. Darn. But I tried it an hour later, and suddenly, it started to work perfectly. I do not know what went wrong, and why it did not work immediately after cleaning. Maybe it was still damp from the alcohol? Unlikely, but I cannot figure out anything else. Anyway, try that and see if it solves the problem for you, and if the oximeter does not work for the first hour or so after cleaning, don't give up on it. Good luck.
