Check the Audio and Sound properties in the Control Panel. Make sure the volume is turned up and not on mute. Click Start/Control Panel or Start/Settings/Control Panel and look for Audio or Sound.

You can also get to the Audio Sound properties by clicking on the megaphone at the bottom right near the time.

Try downloading and reinstalling your audio drivers.

Get online and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "Toshiba Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when requested. Download and install the Audio drivers.

Try using the VLC Player. It comes with drivers and codec.

Try using VLC as your player. Go to www.google.com and in the search box type "download vlc" (without the quotes). Look for the Video Lan download from site www.videolan.org/vlc Download and install it. It downloads and installs in 3 minutes or so. It's a very fast player, smooth and it can play just about any type of dvd formats and media. It's totally FREE.

How can I find rtkvac.sys and install to my computer?

Hi there, I found an article online which identifies some simple steps to obtain this Driver:
  1. First go to the Control Panel and then click on Sounds.
  2. Check whether your Sound/Audio Device is having AC97 or HD Audio.
  3. Then double click on it, then click on drivers tab and note down the version.
  4. Click on Update Drivers.
  5. If nothing happens then right click on it and select Uninstall option.
  6. Let the system reboots, resulting into rebuilding of the driver stack.
If that doesn't work, go here:

Put in your sound driver details and do a google search, or if you have a branded computer go to their website. All sound drivers should be free
