There are 2 reasons that your computer won't start properly from your descriptions.

1. The CMOS battery (CR2032) 3V might be faulty or weak.

2. Your System is badly corrupted (due to Malware/spyware or virus infections) then you need to reformat and reinstall the operating system again.

If you can't fix it, go to a reliable PC shop. It won't cost much.

I have a 2004 Mazda MPV LX. I'm trying to install a remote start & I'm told it may have an immobilizer? How do I find out for sure if it does & where would it be located under the dash?

THE IMMOBILIZER CUTS OFF POWER WHEN THE KEY IS NOT INSERTED BECAUSE THE KEY HAS A CHIP. GO TO YOUR LOCAL CAR STEREO SHOP AND TELL THEM YOU NEED THE BYPASS BOX. COMMENT BACK AND LET ME KNOW HOW IT WORKS OUT.

The battery died i replaced it now the car won't start. its a 2002 626, i was told that there is some chip in the key that needs to be associated with the computer again?

do you have headlights? on accessory, do you have a 'live' dash display? if not- are your battery connections tight? is the + connected to the + terminal and the - to the -? if not, then there may be a blown main fuse! if you have lights, try turning the key from 'off' to 'accessory' 3 times. this may reset your computer. don't forget, when the battery was replaced, your main and secondary computers lost some data and need to re-program. your key may also need to be 're-set', but if you have lights and dash activity, when on 'accessory', then you may need your main computer re-set at a qualified service facility! ah! for the good old days!
good luck!

A month ago my antitheft light started blinking fast and my card shut shut down now it wont start and the theft light is still on..

You have have the orignal master key the car came with or have a new key programmed by your dealer.(some small shops have tools for this too). The key has a chip in it that the computer looks at (a code) that lets it start if it's right.if it gets damaged,or a non-chip key is inserted, the vehicle won't start and the anti theft light blinks.

Dead thinkpad by ibm

Hello,
The CMOS battery supplies energy to the Real Time Clock when the computer is not connected to the electrical socket, and does not have the battery inserted. It should not prevent the computer from starting up. You will however be asked to reset the time and date of the computer.
Hope it helps.

1999 Monte LS 3.1 Very big problem need to know asap!!!!

Sounds like the igniton switch. close to the same happened to my z-34 except it just wouldn't start one time the ignition switch has something that reads a chip in the key, (security thing) the wire inside the switch broke so it wouldn't read the key chip which in turn wouldn't send any electricity to the pcm.I had to have it replaced (believe it or not its a big job) and buy the key which was like, if I remember right, $50-$100 for the key itself plus lots of labor hours.

Suddenly will not start

I had this problem that the malibu would not start sometimes. It turned out to be a computer chip. The dealership informed me that they had tested it earlier after we had it towed to their shop and told me it started fine. I wife drove to work and when leaving it would not start the dealership towed without charge and found out it was a computer chip problem.[
