Question about Amcor PLM-14000E Portable Air Conditioner
I think the damaged case is to blame ...and the noise is from vibrations ...try to see if there is a case available to replace ..also check the drainage ..cause if the drainage is not good..any water accumulated may cause problems ..strange noise..and even stopping the fan ..

Here are a couple of reviews, one complains about loudness.Although on the news there was an article about a company fabricating good reviews for places which I always wondered if that was going on.
Here is a link to Amcor's website...kinda.I don't know how to say it but there is no actual Amcor, they are produced by the people on the link. The page I have daisplayed, shows other peoples comments and suggestions about repair. At the bottom there are links that won't get you very far either.
Next,I called 1800-555-1212.It is the information number similar in all locations however, the 1-800 version is free whereas you have to pay to do it locally. If there is a company out there with a toll free number of any king(877,866)it will give you the number.I am not sure if many people know that.Anyhow, nothing there either.I looked up yellow pages directory for the company name and town, state which also resulted in nothing listed(163 listings). Here is that link.
On the second link, some people suggest who will repait it.If your a/c is less than 90 days old, there should be some kind of warranty service available AT LEAST.If it is fixable anyhow.Seeing how many roadblocks I have encountered just to find anything, you should not get your hopes up too high. Some appliances are just made loud sometmes and there isn't much to do about it.For a stand up a/c I would not expect it to be as loud as it seems to be since you were willing to post here. All I can suggest is if you can, open up the back, turn it on,and hold your hand on the coils lightly to see if that helps. When you block the outlet,it will change pitch though. If you want to know why,it is a complex formula but you can google 'venturi effect',or just take my word.lol.So the whirring could be slight vibration on the coils,or something to do with the fan, something loose.Since it is new,the bearing in the fan should be good and should be protected enough so that the whole machine would be all busted up.If you are not successful with a warranty at least free look at,you may want to consider the BBB or a consumer lawyer's opinion.Wish I could do more.Good luck! A friend of mine had one similar to this, and there was physical damage, allowing the fan to slightly hit part of the plastic frame. It was inside the unit, and a real pain to fix, since we had to take it completely apart to jury rig it. Anytime you have physical damage, you have to find the location of the noise, and discern the problem.
One thing you can suspect is that it concerns the fan, compressor, motor, or bracketing for them, so that's where you're going to mainly look. Not an easy or fun job...I would try for a refund, myself, if possible.
Good luck, though, and hope this helps.

The compressor needs to be checked. If there is loud noise the compressor can be the reason. The other possibility is dirty condenser coils .But if the AC is new then coils getting dirty is rear but still get it checked. If the coils are dirty then it can make the noise.
Also check the filter,if the filters are dirty then it can be the other possibility of loud noise.Clean the filter and recheck if noise is heard. If the filter is cracked or very old then it has to be replaced.

I think you should have reported the matter and got the replacement for the damage as it seems that the inner flow of the vent is choked. The vent could have alttered inside by the damage and so the misalignment has caused the aero dynamics to change resulting in the noise levels.
If you can track back the cold airflow vent and also the fan blowing through the cooling pipes , it will indicate the origin of the noise.
If the cooling fins are damaged or the vent blocked then decide if the warranty still holds, if so get the priviledge of the warranty.
Hope you decide on these views.
