Question about Zanussi Dryers

1 Answer

The drum of my Zanussi TC7103 was making a knocking noise and has now also stopped spinning i have removed the side and the drive belt is fine. The belt loops the drum and then goes round a black plastic wheel fixed to the motor, this looks like its broken and is making the drive belt rub, and causes a burning smell. Can this black wheel be replaced and is it easy to do? Any help will be great

Yes you can replace the belt tentioner . disconnect capacitor wires remove the spring off the motor slip the belt behind the pulley so the motor can move round. remove the rear fan cover ( screw and retaining clips) this to allow pulley to be slid off. fit new tentioner pulley and pull belt in front of pulley refit spring to motor down to cabinet.reconnect capacitor. refit fan cover.125 01 25-20/8 is part no for one of 12 variations of this model use the product no to get the right part 916xxxxxx

I have a Zanussi fj1254 w. It was making a high pitched squeel when it was spinning. No when I turn it on water goes in but the drum does not turn. It turns freely when rotated by hand. i have checked the...

Possible that the drive output to the drum is not there and so there is no voltage when the cycle come to the spin mode.
Check for fault in the drive, capacitor to the motor.

The fan belt keeps coming off when it comes to do a spin also makes a knocking noise from the drum. its only 14 month old its a indesit wlb101 and its driving me nuts

Sounds like the main bearings could be worn.
Remove the belt, and spin drum by hand from the front of the washer,
If it is noisy or feels rough, then it is the bearings.
If that is o/k, then check the drum pulley is not broken or loose.

The drum for our Zanussi TC7103 has stopped spinning

sounds like a new drive belt is required. pull the machine out remove the mains supply!!!!
remove the top and look into the back of the machineif you cant see the belt them remove the back of the machine, it's like a small fan felt from a car it's either come off or disintegrated in which case you'll need a new one.

Drum banging is it bearing when on spin

Hi,
This is difficult to work out as there are so many different symptoms. Here are my thoughts -

Dust from carbon rushes is black. Grey dust usually comes from a loose concrete weight. Loose tub weights are rare on this model but they cause a loud knocking noise which is often worse when the washing machine is revving up to spin and dying down from a spin (suspension problems are also often worse at this safe too). It's not normally a metallic sound though.

If the noise is coming from the motor banging against the sides of the machine then it will make the machine move when it happens. The whole machine may jump or move to one side. The motor often thumps the side of the washing machine on Hotpoint washers where the motor is fitted at the top of the tub and over to the right hand side. This is a daft place to fit a motor and only .I think they've eventually stopped now though.

It is normal to be able to push the drum to the side so that the motor hits the casing. If the suspension has gone, the tub should be twisted and leaning to one side more than the other or it just could be very loose. It's difficult to check suspension if you don't know how it should feel.

If the noise is coming from the inner drum hitting the heating element or throwing an object like a £1 coin (trapped between the inner drum and the outer tub) around, then the washing machine will be stable but the noise would still be a horrible metallic knocking. This is one cause I suspect.

DRUM NOT SPINNPNG CAN HEAR MOTOR RUNNING

Hi

You need to pull the machine out from the wall and remove the back panel. This will give you access to the belt drives. It sounds as if the belt has either snapped or slipped off the pulleys. Be aware you may also have a bearing problem on the motor which has caused the belt to come off in the first place.

Hope this helps.

Drive belt out of alignment

check pulley is fully bolted home. also fault could be due to the bearing spider (on the drum) being broken or cracked on one leg. if this was so, would expect spin with clothes to be very noisy. get gack to me if you want. the belt is a stretchy belt ie no adjustment for tightness
