SOURCE: Wiring diagram

Go to this link http://www.installdr.com/Harnesses/DCP-Wiring.pdf it has the wiring for the majority of chrysler radios. Just match up the plug and you will have your wiring colors. Good luck

SOURCE: 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Factory amplifier

I have the file on my other computer - search other bulletin boards. Check with Crutchfield help desk.

Input wires are the speaker wires from the Amp head/receiver (so you can go to a BestBuy and ask them for the speaker wire colors). Black is ground. Yellow/black is main power. Blue/white is turn on wire. If in doubt take off the door panels and look at what color wires go to the speakers.

Re: Infinity Gold AMP Wire Diagram

Well I don't particularly care for Haynes manuals, but my FSM's did not have anything either. I found this in thejeep cherokee haynes manual and it says that it is for 97 and later models but see if it is close. it looks like there are 2 harnesses so I will list them seperately:

Hartness 1:
[7] Left Soundbar Speaker (+) BR/YL
[8] Left Soundbar Speaker (-) BR/LB
[5] Left Front Door Spkr (+) DG
[1] Left Front Door Spkr (-) BR/RD
[9] Right Soundbar Speaker (+) DB/WT
[3] Right Soundbar Speaker (-) DB/OR
[6] Right Front Door Spkr (+) VT
[2] Right Front Door Spkr (-) DB/RD
[4] Power Amp Relay Feed DG/RD

Harness 2:
[05] Right Soundbar Spkr (+) TN/RD
[13] Right Soundbar Spkr (-) TN/BK
[06] Left Soundbar Spkr (+) WT/TN
[14] Left Soundbar Spkr (-) WT/BK
[11] Passenger Door Spkr (+) LB/RD
[10] Passenger Door Spkr (-) LB/BK
[04] Drivers Door Spkr (+) DG
[12] Drivers Door Spkr (-) LG/RD
[01] Power Amp Feed
[02] Power Amp Feed
[07] Power Amp Ground
[08] Power Amp Ground

The tweeters run in parallel off of the door speakers.... If I can help any more let me know.

My amp keeps going in and out of protect mode every few seconds it cuts off and then it will cut back on and so forth

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} Your amp is probably OK. The volume is either set to high or the speaker load is to low of an impedance. Remember 2, 8 ohm speakers connected is the same as 1, 4 ohm speaker. Another possibility is that you do not have enough battery power coming to the amp itself. A simple rule I use is take the watts and divide by ten, that will give you an approximation of the amps needed on a 12 volt system. This takes into account some of the losses in the amp, but it is only an approximation. For example 300 watts RMS is 30 amps, which will require a number 8 wire to keep the losses at a minimum. You can check wire drops on the web.

Can i hook up a powered 12'sub to a Pheonix Gold xs2500 amp without blowing the speaker

First I hope you remove the speaker wires from the speaker that come from the built in amplifire. You cannot hook the powered sub to the amp without doing that first. Then all you need to do is run speaker wire from the sub out of the box to the amp. In no way can you hook up any other part of the powered sub, but the sub itself, to the amp. If you know the wattage of the sub and the ohms then wire it to the amp correctly. Your phoenix amp will put out 125 watts x 2 at 4 ohms and 250 watts x 2 at 2 ohms and 500 watts x 1 at 4 ohms bridged. Remember, only the sub itself in the sub enclosure can be connected to the amp. Hope this helped you. Let me know if you need more help.
