Question about Olevia Televison & Video

1 Answer

I have a 2.5 year old Olevia flat screen LCD TV. It's not often used. A few weeks ago, when I would first turn it on, the screen would be blank except for for some colors that seemed to be in a "bar" shape (like looking at a bar graph). After a warm up period the screen would become normal. That warm up period became longer and longer. Now, the screen stays blank, except for those colors. Any ideas?

Thank you so much for your response. However, that is completely over my head. It sounds like it's a problem that can be fixed; shall I perhaps take it to a TV repair technician?

Please open the set and check for signs of electrolytic capacitor going weak. If you notice that the top of capacitors are bulged then replace them all. You must look at the convergence board and replace them. Use a good soldering iron to solder up all the IC's in this section, suspected solderr joints that could be dry.
If the fault wont clear then put set on and try to heat up the suspected section with a hair dryer, if picture appears then the suspected area can be marked. But be careful not to overheat and damage the printed circuit board.
The fault will surface for sure.but have patience and attempt the work carefully, soldering must not bridge any circuits.
Hope this helps

3 year old 42in LG LCD TV scrren went blank

You will either have a fault with the inverter board which drives the backlights or a faulty backlight in the screen. If the problem is a backlight then a replacement screen is the only cure. One or the other is breaking down after it has been opn for a certain period of time, have an engineer call out & check with a tester if it is a screen problem.

Green line appearing on screen

Being that the tv is still under warranty. Do not waste another second. Have it sent in and repaired under warranty. If not the problem could get worse and then you have to fit the whole repair bill.
Thank you,

LG 42 LCD no sound or picture

Did anyone find out the solution for this??????? I have the exact same problem with my LG 32 LCD. I only had it for a year and a half, and the green light blinks a few times and it shows no picture. Not even a red light when the tv is off. The same thing happened a couple weeks ago and by some miracle it started working again.
