Nothing appears when playback

hello my name is tyler.

on VCR mode all functions work but nothing appears, no record time or anything but a blue screen, I'm thinking the head needs cleaned(tryed this) or mabe something about magnatize or demagatizing? Thanks much apreciated, tyler
