If the LED is flashing when booting. Look for a pinhole on the drive and get a pn that fits on it, insert and push. This is the emergency eject.

check my computer if its there. If not follow this.
1. Run Regedit
2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
3. Delete Upper and Lower Filters on the right hand side pane.
4. Exit and restart.
Please comment if the information has been helpful. Thank you and regards.

Thank Ron, I found the same solution on the web and tried this and infact I tried uninstalling the driver from Device Manager and rebooted, the drivers got reinstalled successfully upon reboot, but my DVD still doesn't read..maybe I should remove the DVD bay from my laptop and do some cleaning and try it..wat do u think?

That would be an option also. Check the BIOS first, if its detected, load Windows OS disc and boot your system on the DVD drive. If the same thing happens, I advise that you bring it from the store where you bought it. Please let me know the outcome thanks and regards. Don't forget to comment.

I can't write DVD with my Pioneer DVR-107D DVD±RW

What brand of media are you using?

You are burning at 2x because that is the highest that this drive supports.

You would also want to instruct Nero to Verify by ticking the check box and either finalize disc or make it mulitsession, if your burner supports multisession DVDs

Pioneer dvd-rw dvr-k17 problem

This sounds like you have a Virus or Some other type or Malware that has corrupted your drivers. Please Scan with Avast (http://www.avast.com/), Spybot S&D(http://www.safer-networking.org/), and Adaware (http://lavasoft.com/) all of witch have free versions.

Also it may be that your driver got corupted some othere way if it still does not work try roleing back your driver or updateing it.

Thank you,
Rel

P.s. if that does not work please come back and make sure you give the info that you have

scanned with the above and if you do not reply in this question then make sure you include all

that info with all the info you have already put here. Good Luck!

This worked: thanks to riozebratubo

delete the entires in regedit.exe

"UpperFilters"
"LowerFilters"

They're inside:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}]

-uninstall the driver
- restart

Vista is searching for existing drivers -> done
