Question about Motorola Walkie Talkie 2-Way Radio

1 Answer

The number on the Walkie Talkie is FCCID K7GT8500 We are an elementary school and the Walkie Talkies are only two years old. The batteries are good in them. Teachers can hear us when we call from the office but we cannot hear them. We have four sets and all of them are doing this. They all worked fine for one year but we started having trouble with them toward the end of last year. If students have pressed the wrong buttons on them we cannot tell because we do not have a manual. CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME??????

Hi.

Ensure that teachers' radios battery are not down. This are not simple Walkie Talkie, but multichannels radios. If batteries are OK, then teacher or students have changed the broadcasting channel.

You can get the manual accessing the support section of Motorola Website in your region or contacting Motorola. Here the website.

Best regards.

Ginko.

I had the same problem, but eventually found the solution ('manual') at http://www.motorola.com/Consumers/US-EN/... T8500R Two-Way Radio_US_EN
Motorola should have put the model number on these radios.

I have k7gfv700 Motorola walkie talkies w/ charger. The charge seems to work, but the lighs one the charge are red and the talkie do not charge. Do I need new batteries and where can I purchase the

You might try http://wirelesspro.com, we have found them to carry most TalkAbout accessories and batteries. Before ordering battery packs, you might try switching your existing good battery to the other radio and see if it solves the problem. This would assure you that it is indeed a battery problem.

My Cobra MircroTalk walkie-talkies aren't charging. The charge light doesn't turn on and I've made sure u turned Tue units themselves off. The model number is: GA-CQ

If your problem started after replacing the batteries (mine did), see this: http://www.walkie-talkie-radio.co.uk/replacing-cobra-walkie-talkie-rechargeable-batteries.html If that is your problem, you can also fix it by wrapping foil around the bottom of the battery that makes that touches the bottom side charging contact.

The battery is fully charged on the walkie talkies and all are on the same channel, however out of 12 walkie talkies only 2 will work. When ever you push the push to talk button the walkie talkie shuts...

Your batteries are either no good, or not charged. When you press the PTT button it takes more energy than being in standby mode. If you have a battery problem it will fail quickly when the PTT is pressed.

Rechargeable batteries last approx. 18-24 months. Check your battery for a 3-digit date code. It is usually a 3 digit number followed by a couple of letters. The numbers tell the date of manufacture. The first number is the year, followed by the week of the year. 025 would be 2010 the 25th week. (or if very old it could be 2000 the 25th week.)

If you feel age is not a problem, you might check your charger(s) to see they are fully powered, and clear of debris on the contacts (and the radio contacts as well). Clean with a pencil eraser if needed.

A few tips: Be certain when placing your radios on the charge they are turned off. Check your wall outlet to be certain it doesn't get shut off with a light switch. Expect to replace your batteries every 2-3 years.

Best regards.
