Hi,

As the weather is getting warmer for many people their freezer and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many other things that can go wrong. If you are hearing a clicking or buzzing then check out the last two tips.

If your refrigerator is running but warm, then…

Check out this tip that I wrote about that... it is a great place to start trouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then calling a repair person to do a simple thing for you...

Fridge not cold. Compress or runs 5/10 seconds smoothly then kick s out . DW

  • Check the thermostat control. Even if you've not touched it, something may have knocked it and adjusted the setting. The thermostat may also need to be adjusted depending on the temperature of its surroundings and the coldness of the weather.
  • Make sure any food stored in the fridge or freezer is not blocking any air vents. This can stop air circulating properly.
  • If the fridge is too close to the wall, the condenser coils will not function properly.
  • Defrost the fridge and freezer thoroughly and clean the inside surfaces with warm water. Check any air vents to ensure they are not blocked.
  • Clean the condenser coils at the back of the fridge using a vacuum cleaner, making sure all dust and any dirt are removed. Clean any stubborn dirt away with warm soapy water, being careful not to scrape the coils. Turn your fridge off and unplug it before doing this.
  • Make sure the fridge's fans are not clogged and are able to function properly. Again, you need to turn your fridge off and uplug it before attempting this.
  • Check the door is closing properly. Make sure nothing is obstructing it or pushing it slightly open. Ensure the seals around the edge are working well.

Freezer working fine the fridge is not

The motor running constantly means the fridge is not sealed properly so that it is losing cold to outside. Check if the door of the fridge seals properly.

Frigidaire FP120V Fridge is too warm, yet freezes in crisper

There may be vents that need to be closed and or opened a little for proper adjustment.

Is your circulating fan working?
Sometimes they stick and need a shot of WD 40 and then work
it back and forth a little until it wants to take off again. Keep me informed

Freezer woks fine but the fridge not working

sounds as if the evaporaator fan inside the fridge between the fridge and freezer is out. This fan is located between the freezer and fridge in the same area as the control switch for the temp. This fan isn't hard to replace you just need to take care of the removal of the plastic cover. Once the cover is removed the fan is accessed easily. Take the model and serial number to an appliance parts house for the proper part. Good Luck

Refridgerator side not cold freezer side fine

Difficult to properly diagnois with such a brief description, but try the following as a good first step at correcting the problem. Reset the freezer and fridge thermostat settings at the factory default. Also, check the freezer section to make sure nothing is blocking the cold air supply vent into the fridge, do the same on the fridge side too.

Normally is the freezer is working fine, and the fridge is warm, it can be due to either a blockage of the cold air cross vent by items in either the freezer, fridge, or both, preventing proper cold air flow from the freezer into the fridge. Also, check to see if the cold air vent is not frozen or obstructed, with a fashlight (you;ll need to remove stuff from fridge and freezer to make this possible to check.

If the vent is not obstructed and you can clearly feel cold air passing from the freezer into the fridge, it is possible that the cold air vent control has ceased operating properly and needs to be replaced. Usually though this type of problem is caused by people over stuffing things into the freezer section and blocking the cold air cross over vent. Hope this helps.

Ge fridge GSS25LFGww, fridge part freezing food

Hi, Change the controls back to normal settings. Make sure the freezer is getting 0 to 5 above. If the freezer is getting cold enough, try and turn the cold control to 1 and see if the refrigerator shuts off. It sounds like the cold control in not working properly and will need to be replaced. NOTE: The freezer temp has to be right temp or the fresh food side will not work proper.
I hope this helps. Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Freezer not working but fridge is

You said,
I opened my freezer today and everything was defrosting. The fridge is working fine. I thought maybe did not shut properly so made sure it was closed and 8 hours later it is still not freezing. The fan is working but the air is refrigerator. HELP!!!

1.Try unplugging the fridge for 5 minutes and then restarting it! This may reset the system!
2.If the freezer is so full that the rear vents are blocked then this may happen. Because the fridge and the freezer share the air!
3. If not then the freezer and the fridge have different controls and the freezer control if faulty!

then you need service. ur site has good service companies in your are for our customers!
