Can not start rocketfish 7.1 sound card

you may need to reinstall any soundcard software that came with the program or update the soundcard. to do so go to Start>control panel> device manager> sound video and game controllers then pick your rocketfish and right click on it. that will give you options to update driver.

While playing dvd video can be seen but no sound heared. i use window media player vlc and winamp. please help me to repair on line if you can.

Short answer: You may have muted or turned the volume with your function keys. (Fn)+ Vol Up/Down. Or check down right on the toolbar and eventually unmute the loudspeaker icon.

If not, check in Device Manager if your Soundcard is properly installed and enabled.

E-MU 0404 Soundcard no longer functions

Reinstall the software driver for your soundcard to make it work. If you have the disc, just insert it and reinstall,
otherwise, you have to download it from the internet.

Did you check in the BIOS to make sure the Sound card is Enabled?
Hit Del key on first boot before Ubuntu comes up.
Go into blue screen and make sure it says "Enabled" on Sound chip.

Soundcard is going out. Can it be replaced or upgraded?

Most likely, you have an integrated soundcard on the motherboard. Most laptops have an integrated, soldered chip on the motherboard. The best bet for an upgrade is buying a pcmcia or usb soundcard. A pcmcia souncard is easier to put into the sytstem and not think about it. Better external soundcards are connected via a usb cable. What makes this better, is that there is no electrical interference with the soundcard functions. Of course, this is only an audiophile purist issue. You can find an example of each card by looking at SoundBlaster laptop soundcards as a reference. They make both.

Configuring two soundcards for parallel functioning

a windows computer can only use one sound card for one function

you can use the internal sound card for output
you can use the usb sound card for input / recording.

you can't use both for both.

Start -> control panel -> sounds and audio devices properties
open up audio page

You can have one device selected on Sound playback
You can have one device selected on Sound recording.

you can change which sound card is used for which function on this page. if you want to use the internal sound card set both settings to the internal if you want to use the external change both settings to the external.

Configuring two soundcards for parallel functioning

Windows does not play nicely with 2 sound cards. Perhaps one of these days Microsoft will get out of the stone age and recognize other options, but for now, the general consensus is that it is not feasible.

About the only thing I have seen is to turn off one sound card in the hardware profile, but that is not what you are trying to do.
