Hp dx6100 mt reboot frequently before booting

Hi P!

This could be contributed to a few things--

Is the laptop sitting on a hard surface (rather than in your lap)? It could be an overheating issue.

Does it give you a blue screen before it restarts? (This could be a software issue)

Does it lock up before it restarts? (Could be a hardware issue).

If you could clarify for me-- I'd be more than happy to provide you with additional direction.

Hope this helps!

How do I reboot my acer laptop with my copy disk?

When turning your laptop on, before Windows starts booting, a splash screen appears first (usually with the logo of the manufacturer). Look on the splash screen (usually at the bottom) for a key (usually F10 or F11), assigned for System Recovery CD/DVD with the laptop. or 1.Press the start button from the start menu depending on your operating system(win 2000,xp) 2.Press Ctrl+Alt+delete combination from the keyboard. 3.If you have a power button on your laptop keyboard,it could also be useful by pressing and hold it down for few seconds N.B: "Ctrl+Alt+Delete" can exit you from usage and trigger a reboot or shutdown. Try and reboot using the operating system. Attempt to use the key combination that will allow you to exit from the operating system and restart the laptop. Be patient, as it may take some time if it has locked up. Hold down the power button. If the operating system's answer to the rebooting will not work, find and hold down the power button of the laptop. This should cause the device to shut itself off. You'll have to press the power button again to power it back on, completing the reboot. Unplug from the wall and remove the battery. If restarting via the operating system and the power button do not work, unplug the laptop from the wall outlet, and remove the battery from the laptop. This will cause it to power off immediately. Allow time to reboot. Give the laptop time to cool down before you power it back on if you had to do this manually. A few seconds should do unless you have additional problems.

All the Best!

Have a Gateway NV78 Laptop love it but there are 2 blue lights on lower left corner of the laptop and the one on the right goes to "red" sometimes why? This is "on the case" not the screen/monitor...

Do you have the Gateway NV78 Series User's Reference Guide?
(English)

Gateway Support > NV78 Gateway NV78 Notebook Series > Support Documents,

If not, left-click on,
Gateway NV78 Series User's Reference Guide - English

This is a PDF file.
Takes a few seconds before you see the first page, and additional time to fully download.
Suggestion is that you let the file fully download, before looking through it.

(Your computer has Adobe Reader on it, which uses PDF files)

Important: This LED only lights up when your notebook is connected to AC power, (The AC adapter is plugged in. 'Charger'),
or the battery charge is very low"

I have a Gateway 3520 laptop. I formatted the hard drive and installed XP on the drive. After powering on the laptop. You see Windows XP logo and when the hard drive tries to boot I see a blue screen...

Do this:
Start the computer in safe mode.
If it starts OK, then click on Start and Run and then type in msconfig.
In the next window go to the startup tab (upper right of the window).
When the tab opens, at the lower right, click on disable all.
Now restart the computer normally.
If you had a bad motherboard, it would not start in safe mode.
One of the items that showed up in the startup tab is causing the problem. You can run msconfig when running normally and enable the things one by one until you find the one causing the problem.
Oh--BTW--after running msconfig, when you start Windows, you will get a message saying the the utility had been run. You have to click the little box at the lower left of the window, or it will throw you right back into the configuration.

I have dell inspiron 6000 laptop. The laptop keyboard got locked. I can't use the keyboard and if press any key..it works for the function key. On the laptop, the light with lock symbol (9) is on.

When you turn on the laptop, just before Windows starts to load tap the F8 key a couple of times. If you get a menu, choose Last Known Good.

If that does not do it, and the mouse still works fine, go to Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools and run System Restore.

Choose a date from before the keyboard problem and let it reboot. Should solve the problem.

Using your toolbar preferences you can move them back to the bottom and then click the lock taskbar option to prevent this from happening again. You can access this by right mouse clicking on the taskbar then select properties. Hope this helps.
