You have it explained in this manual from page 93 to page 97. It's very easy, but be careful when you remove the hard drive conector, if fits very hard to the HD...excuse my english.

I cant get ubuntu 11.10 to load onto my compaq nx9030 the disk runs fine but when i go to install it doesnt work

Use the Windows installer for dual boot. Easy! Or test as Live CD (no-install)

A full install may require partition and Linux disk / file format. Along with setup files destinations options. This a full commit install.

My hp nx9030 keep rebooting itself with the message, PXE E61 media test failure check cable, PXE -MOF EXITING PXE ROM.what can i do

The error PXE-E61: Media test failure usually means the hard diskhas failed or the hard disk needs re-seating or the disk controller is faulty. First - re-seat the harddisk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot andgo into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If itdoesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty. Next - to check if the harddrive is faulty, remove the hard drive and insert it into an USB hard drive adapter and connect it to a workingcomputer's USB port. If this computer cannot see itas an USB mass storage device and you cannot open the various folders and fileson this drive, then this confirms the hard drive is faulty. Then the hard drive needsto be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer orlaptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioningcomputer/laptop again.

Modems & drivers

Why not put the drivers on a disk as a backup. Then you will have them if you ever need them in the future. You can then install the drivers in your notebook.
