No need to modify anything just plug in the 20 pin mb power connector the 4 pin cpu connector and your HDD's and disc drives power the same as your old setup and your good to go. mb's are designed to handle a broad range of wattages, if your not sure what plugs go where take a few photos before you begin unplugging or draw a simple diagram

Asus p5nd motherboard won't start when power button is pushed, but the motherboard light stays on..

Most probably your power supply. An SLI rig will draw a lot of power for the graphics and for a power supply in a system like this to have lasted 5 years is amazing. They don't last forever. You could buy a PSU tester (about 10 GBP) and confirm it. But if you have to buy a new one look for one that is at least 25percent more powerful than your old one and has at least a bronze efficiency rating. (silver would be better) and buy one from a known brand such as Antec, Chillmaster, or OCZ.

Best power supply for asus p5p800 motherboard my

Test your PSU or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect/ boot up a computer hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they are probably old and faulty a computer needs its connections to have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error

Re: PSU Antec NEO ECO 520C 520W RT This power supply was purchased through Newegg.com on 5 August 2010. It was installed into an Antec 200 Case in the same month. It has operated flawlessly until 1...

I agree with you about the power supply being faulty. Unfortunately FixYa is not affiliated with Antec nor sells or service any computer components.
You need to contact the supplier who sold you the power supply or contact Antec.

Will not power on

Have you check your PSU(Power Spply Unit)?
If you could get an extra working PSU, try it first before you buy a new PSU!

Found out the PSU got problem, check the FUSE inside and replace it if is BLOWN UP!

Power LED is On but system doesnot start ?

hello, I have a solution for u i think it may help for u.
your problem is:

When u press the start button... the power LED comes on but there is no POST beep or BIOS screen or boot up. The SMPS fan and Processor fans also dont come on at all. there is a small LED next to the SMPS plug on the motherboard that does light up when the system is connected to a power source.
Part of the system configuration is the kind of PSU you have in your system.
SOLUTION IS
So, what kind of PSU?

Try to borrow a known good PSU. Or better yet, see if you can test your PSU in another working system. If you cannot do that, try to borrow a DMM to measure the voltages. Yellow wires should be 12 volts. Red wires: +5 volts, orange wires: +3.3 volts, blue wire : -12 volts, violet wire: 5 volts always on. The gray wire is really important. It should go from 0 to +5 volts when you turn the PSU on with the case switch. CPU needs this signal to boot.

You can turn on the PSU by completely disconnecting the PSU and using a paperclip or jumper wire to short the green wire to one of the neighboring black wires.

This checks the PSU under no load conditions, so it is not completely reliable. But if it can not pass this, it is dead.

I have an asus p4p800se mobo with 3.2ghz, 1gb ram that just shut off, I rebooted and it went on for a minute or 2 and shut down again, tunrs out the PSU died, I replaced it with a new 500watt psu, now all...

When the PSU died it overstresed the sources on the board - most likely the capacitors were damaged (you can see them bulged). Replace them if you can, otherwise you need a new board.

-5v is sitting at -8.48

If you were measuring the voltage right then it seems like a power supply problem. Make sure you are measuring voltage potential with respect to common ground. Meaning the black wires on your meter probe is on the metal body of the PSU.

Pluging in extra usb ports/Mic and headphone jacks from the tower

Answer me this. You're case is an Antec tower? The motherboard is the Asus P4P800 SE ? Is this correct?
If you have you're manual you can see what goes where on the board for front panel connector page. 2-31. (This diagram shows you how to connect the front mic & speaker).
To connect the Antec's front USB ports plug the case USB front connectors onto USB56 & USB78 shown on page. 2-30. Most case wires are already set within their USB connectors & the Antec's front USB connector should fit right on the mother board's pin's. If you need you're user manual, download from Asus by clicking on this link. http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?modelname=P4P800%20SE&SLanguage=en-us

Good Luck!
