Bad drive coupler or belt, this links the motor to the transmission, if it has failed then no spinning and or agitation.
GOOD LUCK !

Is 10194450 the model # of my whirlpool washer

Hi Adrian, no this number is not a model number for a Whirlpool Washer. If you have a top loading Washer, you can locate the model/serial number by looking just under the lid around the tubs rim. If you have a front loading Washer, the model/serial number can be found by opening the door and looking around the opening of the Washer. The model number will begin with letters, usually with the letter W. We hope this helps.

Washer not spining Top loader part I

There are a couple of key parts in makeing the tub of the washing machine spin and here are some of the ways you can test whats wrong with your washer and why it is not spining. The most popular for all direct drive units is of course the drive couple which is the small plastic and rubber piece that attaches the motor to the transmission these tend to break more often then any other piece due to when made for manufacturers they do not have any metal on the three pronged connector nor in the center the replacement coupler does come with a metal washer in the center which prevents the actual spining stress caused on the piece to break the small arms that come off the connector. the best way to test for the coupler is by visual inspection so remove the cabinet, pump and motor and assure that the drive couple has not broken at all. if you need a video of how to replace the drive coupler click here http://www.youtube.com/user/RepairClinic?v=9K1KHEogf3c&feature=pyv&ad=5501893181&kw=whirlpool%20coupler&gclid=CMSzgdOGvqgCFUSo4Aod1SgCqA

Another problematic area would be the clutch that is connected to the transmission. One of the easiest ways to check the clutch is to set the unit to spin with no clothes on the inside. While the unit is spining use the palm of your hand and press your palm against the inside wall of the inner tub if the tub slows or stops this would mean that the clutch is worn or defective and would need to be replaced. Here is also a video of how to replace the clutch click here http://www.youtube.com/user/RepairClinic?v=tVc6SZ2DD4U&feature=pyv&ad=5454782141&kw=washer%20clutch&gclid=CKut8bSGvqgCFYFM4Aod4n2trQ
there are also other parts that cause the unit to spin such as the motor, transmission, and timer and these will be discussed in part 2 So look for Washer not spining Top loader part II Thanks again for using Fixya

Hello.i need a help,my whirlpool 6sense washing mashine 9769b when spining do horible and loud noice! I try to find bearing but i dont cnow did my washing mashine have one.

Any front-loader machine will have a shaft and two bearings supporting the tub. You may need to remove the back to find it. Also, check to make sure that whatever supports the tub (spider attached to the tub and bearing shaft) is still intact. Some models have reputations for this spider corroding and failing in as little as 2 years.

My whirlpool front load washing machine is making a loud knocking noise when in the spine cycle.

Bad tub baring or hopefully a cloged drain pump. If it is a tub baring it is going to cost a lot of money.

Good luck,

Marty

Need to know what year is my washer set

The date of manufacture is determined by the SERIAL NUMBER, not the model number. The serial number will be located on a nameplate (with the model number) along the wash tub rim under the lid.

The following link explains how to read the serial number to determine the age:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3576437-determining_the_age_of_your_whirlpool_ap

The 2nd digit in the serial number will identify the YEAR is was manufactured. The first two numbers, following that digit, will determine the WEEK (52 weeks in a year). This same information applies to all your other Whirlpool appliances.

If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

Model and serial number

If this is a Whirlpool manufactured TOP LOADER (such as the one you posted this question under), the model number and serial number are located on a nameplate along the wash tub rim under the lid.

If this is a FRONT LOADER, the model number and serial number will be located along the door facing as you open the door.

If you have questions, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

Broken shock absorbers on front loading Kenmore

Hi, first things first. Your model and serial numbers should be on a sticker somewhere around the door opening. Next check the tub. With your finger, push up on the rim of the tub then rotate the tub a few inches and push up again. Continue through a whole rotation. If the tub moves and make a clicking noise you have a bad drum bearing and the cost to repair is more than the unit is worth. If that's not an issue, then it's probably just the shocks, replacing them should solve the problem. Hope that helps.

Hi Reagena

Its hard to say what is wrong but the first thing to do is to open the lid and move the tub arround, chances are that the tub just went off balance and hist the ff balance switch. hope this helped.

Machine does Agitate

Open machine's rear panel and remove belt. Check if motor spins (when it should, as per cycle stage). If motor is spining - Move tub manually and check for smooth spin In case it doesn't spin smoothly - maybe that a sock or other piece of clothing get between the clothes tub and the outer tub and prevent tub's spining. If this is the situation, you should remove it. In case motor doesn't spin- Check with multi-meter if it get power. If it get power - The problem is with the motor. Good luck !!
