Was the blown channel working and then quit or was the channel out when you received the amp?

Do you have jumpers on every group of headers?

Have you tried connecting speakers to all channels and moving the jumpers to see if the other channels would produce audio with other jumper settings?

Amp stopped playing riding down the road, power light turned off. came back on when i unplugged the rca's and cuts back off when i try to plug them back in.

Faulty RCA cables, Or worse possible solution is if your amp stopped playing when it was pumping at high volume, you may have blown the RCA connectors inside your head unit Or inside your amp. If possible try another known good working amp with the wires you already have, If same happens, try different RCA cables. If problem persists after trying these, Its your head unit RCA connecters or amp RCA connectors. To rule out your amp connectors, try your amp in a friends car if possible, to rule out your head unit, try another good known working amp in your car with the wiring you already have

Hello. I have an Ultra Linear Amp - UL724 model. I am wiring it up to play in 2 channel mode - in stereo. I can only get one channel to work - the left... I swap the rca cords, still only the left side...

YOUR METHOD OF TROUBLESHOOTING USING THE PROCESS OF ELIMINATION IS RIGHT ON AND PERFECT. IT INDICATES A BAD AMPLIFIER CHANNEL. I KNOW THIS SOUNDS ODD, AS YOU HAVE TWO OF THESE NOW. IT IS RARE, BUT I HAVE SEEN INPUT CONFIGURATION SWITCHES WIRED BACKWARDS, SO THE ONLY THING LEFT TO DO IS TO HOOK UP THE BAD CHANNEL TO ONE SPEAKER ONLY, BY ITSELF. THEN TAKE ONE RCA ONLY AND PLUG IT INTO ONE RCA INPUT AT A TIME. THEN MOVE THE INPUT SWITCHES AND REPEAT THIS PROCEDURE UNTIL YOU HAVE TRIED ALL SWITCH COMBINATIONS AND ALL INPUT JACKS. WHAT YOU ARE TRYING TO DO AT THIS POINT IS TO DETERMINE IF THERE IS ANY RCA JACK WITH ANY SWITCH POSITION, THAT WILL ALLOW YOU TO GET OUTPUT FROM THAT CHANNEL. IF AFTER THIS TEST, YOU STILL HAVE NO OUTPUT, THEN NO MATTER HOW ODD, IT WOULD INDICATE THAT YOU DO IN FACT HAVE A SECOND DEFECTIVE AMPLIFIER. LET ME KNOW IF YOU NEED FURTHER ASSISTANCE.....V

make sure your speakers are connected correctly if subs and are inside the box then check connections also at times the rca at the back of the head unit can disconnect. if power light is on then error is either speakers not connected correctly, rca faulty or not connected or speaker output on amp is blown

One channel only

Try the following:

Swap the RCAs at the input. If the dead channel follows the RCA signal, check the signal source and cabling.

Move all controls and switches to see if the dead channel makes any noise. If so, a dirty switch may be causing the problem.

If neither of those help, you may have a blown power supply for the dead channel. Look at the 3 legged devices clamped to the heatsink. Do you see any that show signs of damage or have black soot near them?

Weird sound

get a portable player with a head phone jack get one of those cables with a headphone plug on one end and RCA's on the other plug the portable player into the amp and hit play. If you get Boom then the RCA grounds in your head unit are blown and only a repair shop can fix that. Also double check all grounds making sure they are solit with the proper gauge wire. Under the rear seat belt bolts is a prime connection point. Check with different RCA's
