PC hp6000 1.9 mhg [mhz] with eGO portable h/d?
what is your o/s [operating system]? win_xp,Win_me,Win_98 ???
Does the h/d have a USB cord, replace it with a known good one.
Change to another usb plug on pc. [from usb #1 to usb#2]
Do you mean "FIRE WALL" for fire wire ?
goto CONTROL PANEL>system>HARDWARE>DEVICE MANAGER try to find the eGO h/d and uninstall it. reboot the computer with the H/D NOT CONNECTED!! after rebooting the computer plug in the h/d with the USB ,the computer should see it.

Windows 7 driver for160GB eGo USB 2.0 Portable Hard Drive?

According to the Iomega Support web site you do not need additional drivers for using your Iomega eGo drive with Windows 7 unless you have a USB 3.0 device.

See this Iomega document on what you should do if your drive is not detected on Windows 7

My iomega eGO is not recognised by any pc. It used to work just fine. The small light doen't flash when plagged in. Help!

Looks like its dead, the only other thing I can think of is to try it on a pc which uses a linux based operating system instead of Windows.

EGo portable hard drive works with desktop with one internal hard drive installed, however if desktop has two hard drives eGo will not work

right click on my computer and choose manage.
computer management will appear.
go down to disk management
if you see your ego drive listed there
right click on it and choose change drive letter and paths
choose a drive letter that isn't in use like F or G.
you should now be able to browse or view the ego drive in my computer. or by going to run and type the drive letter you choose.

How do i down load and view movies on my 1TB eGo Helium 2.0 portable hard drive?

You can't view them on it, it's just for storing the files. To store them you download the file to your pc, connect the drive to the pc and copy them to it in Computer.

I have the eGo helium portable hard drive (compact edition, usb 2.0 500gb) i'm using it on my HP laptop...how do i get it to just backup my itunes music, videos and tv shows---do you not just drag it and...

you can cut and paste or just copy the media to the external hard drive. and copy it back if the data is ever lost from your computer, also you can have iTunes use the external hard drive to get media from. So you can free up valuable space on your pc's hard drive by just cut and pasting the iTunes folder to it.
