There is a threaded cap on the spool that can get very tight, but a pair of Channel-loc pliers usually does the trick to remove the cap. Getting the string to feed consistently is a trick that I have not figured out how to do...

I had to use a pair of pliers to hold the the two wheels together and then vise grips to get the cap off; I have to do this every time but it does work. Thank you very much.

The spinning device (the filament cassette I think) through which the cutting strings are attached has detached from the trimmer's stick. How can it be put back again or reattached?

There should be a knob that goes on AFTER the string spool that holds it on. IF the issue is it keeps turning when you try to put it back on, then on a machine with no clutch, the engine will need to be locked up. To do this, remove the spark plug and wire, pull on the start cord until you see (with a light) the piston go DOWN in the cylinder...then insert a length of soft, clean rope into the cylinder and this will lock it up when it tries to turn again.Parts on end of the machine are:

1. Bump Knob 2. String Spool 3. Spool Spring and finally 4. String Head Housing

Changing the spool/ need to place more cutting thread on.

Unable to download your exact model (Mighty Lite) manual. Here are the instructions for stringing a different model with hopefully the same type string head. See pages 14 & 15 of this manual. You will need Adobe Reader installed on your computer to view this.

Once you have the string wound onto the spool, place the spool onto the shaft and pull the strings out of the slots so that the string feeds through the holes without going through the slots. Good luck...Lee

There wiil be a nut or a knob at the end of the spool where string comes out turn it left to loosen and right to tighten it. Rmove spool pull down and spool will come off foll directional arrows that shows which way the string should go put spool back on tighten screw or some you can turn with knob at end make sure it's tight before starting.

the problem with it is its a piece of **** excuse for a line feeder if its a mighty lite. mine is new and in perfect condition and getting it to feed string is close to impossible.

Can not figure out how to restring

im pretty sure i have the same trimmer, take the spool off, take all the cord out of it, now look closely at the bumper, u should see an arrow, find the halfway and fold it so it 2 peices, dont cut it, and rewind the cord, ull see clips on the bumper thats for when ur finished itll hold the line back in place so u can put it on without hassling with the cords, once u get the bolt on and tightened, give those 2 cords a good pull and they will pop out of the clips and u should be good to go, if this doesnt help ya, there is a tutourial on fixing these on
