If you see smoke, then it is most likely a blown or leaking capacitor. Those can be replaced by a trainied electronics tech, or you can take a stab at it yourself if you are so inclined. Inspect all the cylinder shaped objects on top of *********** board. The tops of them should be metal and shiney. If any of them have a gooey liquid or a white substance on top of them, then they are blown and should be replaced. If you remove them yourself, then take them to your nearest supply store (ie Radioshack) so they can match them exactly.
