Unfortunately i no longer have my Acer, it was plagued with problems. The other things i would recommend is to

1) Re-install drivers for your keypad

2) Check the bios settings for anything keyboard related and ensure it isn't turned off

3) Plug in a USB keyboard as a temporary measure

Sorry i can't be of more help, i can't test on an Acer right now. If you have any questions about these points, ask me. Hope the touchpad works now..

In my device manager, my Universal Serial Bus controllers are missing. On top of that, my keyboard is inoperable. I've tried doing a BIOS flash but for some reason it doesn't work with this computer.

You should be able to get the keyboard going by picking the default US driver. try plugging in an external keyboard if not.

USB drivers are part of the windows operating system, not the BIOS.

You need to know what type of chipset you have, which you will get from device manager.. Then you restore the drivers by re-installing them.

Keyboard inoperated

Four solutions -
1) Take apart PC. Clean keyboard top to bottom and ensure ribbon reconnected properly. (some key bashin may be needed !!)
2) Take apart PC. Buy and install new keyboard
3) For Windows 7: Press Start, all Programs, Accessories, Ease of Access, On Screen Keyboard - and use the keyboard that appears
4) Google and download SharpKeys (changes one key to act as another). Example change # (seldom used) to wot ever. And then even lift off the keys and swop to match your choice.

Keyboard for lenovo R500 laptop not working

What do you mean not working? Is it that certain keys don't work, or the whole keyboard does not work?

Maybe your keyboard has been hijacked by a virus. Have you tried booting up in Safe Mode to see if it works?

Turn off the computer, then hit the power buttonto turn it back on and immediately start hitting the F8 key repeatedly untilyou see SAFE MODE. Take the Safe Mode option and let it boot up. SafeMode will look different to you, the screen will be darker and the iconsbigger, this is normal

My keyboard doesnt work.I have to use an external keyboard.

Have you checked your interner keyboard in BIOS, Try turning on the system and keep tapping F2 , see if u see a diffrent screen then normal. and try playing around with the keys. if it works then it is not a problem with keyboard , but if it is then, you need to purchase a new keyboard.

Note/:- while exiting the F2 screen,.do not save any changes.
