That should be a 320K pot.

Here's a link to the schematic.
http://www.ampix.org/albums/userpics/10003/MArshall_MG100DFX.pdf
Make sure speaker cable works and is connected then check fuses. If it has a master volume, make sure it's turned up.

Master volume is scratchy on MG100FX

All i can suggest is to use electrical contact cleaner on it from the inside. But you,ve already done that. And i would imagine that the master volumes will be the same to, Harry

Marshall Mg30DFX guitar amp volume level cuts in and out! Anyone know how to fix this or what the problem is?

I have just fixed one of the amplifiers with this fault. It was a poor solder joint on the headphone socket. The ground of the speaker is switched through the headphone socket, so if there isn't a good connection, the speaker volume drops, but the headphone output is still OK.

The guitar is not amplifying

faulty lead? when the lead is plugged in turn the amp distortion on (may be called 'gain') and when you tap the end that goes into the guitar with your finger you should hear a buzz. try another lead if not, and if it still doesn't work make sure that volume is up on the amp and the guitar. there may also be a knob in the back of the amp, turn that up too (but not all the way or when you do get it working you'll blow the speakers out).

I run a pod HD 500 into the amp and It breaks up, like there is a blown speaker sometimes.

The Marshall is a super clean acoustic amp.

The POD is overloading the amp.

Try the electric guitar input and keep the gain on the amp down, keep the EQ level and use the POD and the end volume to adjust the final volume.

The normal inputs is for a low output acoustic pickup - the POD is a high output electronic source.

Start with the Marshall gains low and get the clean sound good, then work on the gritty sound.

The amp is voiced for a sweet clean sound - if you want grit'n'ball change to a 50w Marshall valve head and a 4 X 12 cabinet.

I am no longer able to turn on my amp. I was running a bass head through it a few months ago, and havent used it since. Now the amp wont turn on at all. I have tried turning the master volume down to 0,...

probolly all you did was run a head into another amp and just caused your marshall to overheat/overpower and blew your output transistor. i you drop the chassis out and look at the chip on the heatsink is it blown? also check all internal and external fuses.

Hi I have a marshall haze15w amp and stack, the problem seems to

There are many models of Marshal amps icluding 15Watt types.

First thing to try is to see if headphones have normal volume. If they do, then the headphone jack switch that connects the speaker is LIKELY bad.

If the headphones do not have any volume, LIKELY causes are:

1. Fried output power amp

2. Volume pot is broken or has bad solder joints to the circuit board.

Marshall MG50 DFX amp line out/headphones not working

Contrary to what's posted above, the Marshall MG series does not pass the speaker power output through the headphone jack, and inserting the headphones into the jack does not disable the speaker. The headphone amp is a separate circuit and it's input is taken before the master volume. So Jan's post is exactly right. Turn off the master volume and turn up all the other gain/volumes as high as they will go. The other issue is that the headphone jack's output does not drive low efficiency headphones well, so you need some headphones similar to Sony's MDR-V700s to hear it well. Earbuds just don't cut it.

The input jack on my Marshall MG100FX has fallen into the amp case......how do you access the case to retrieve

I just had this problem and wasn't able to find the solution on line, so, here 'tis.

Take off the six screws on top of the amp cabinet. Unplug the speaker plug from the amp jack. The metal amplifer box can now be pushed out of the back of the cabinet and the input jack remounted. I had to force the box a bit as it was glued in just enough to tack it into place. (I was afraid to force the electronics box out so I took the entire cabinet apart piece by piece until I could see there was nothing left holding it in.) I found that prying it this way and that with a butter knife helped crack the glue.
