U did not specify the type of copier, but after u might have service the copier, check the exposure lamp, the chagers, the drum, the developer, one of these is worn out.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Why is our printer copier printing so light?

The developer should have been replaced by the technician. the solution is simple...replace the drum and developer and you will have nice crisp prints and copies.

Background on copies, possible dirty charge roller , I cleaned all optics is there an adjustment to perform to help eliviate this background

Hi,
yes it could be chatge rollers fault, but how many copies does developer have? I would clean the charge roller with water, dry it, and change the developer. On these digital machine, when you have backround wich is dark, these means that developer is worn out and you need to change it and clean developer cylindar. When the optics is dirty the image will be light, not dark!!!!! Only on analog copiers when optics is dirty the copy is dark, and when the developer is worned out the copy is light!!!!

Printing black on paper

Some of these machines will allow you to printe a grey scale test copy.
This will readjust the fax machine back to a nominal mode.
Not knowing how old or how long the machine has been serviced, background can be caused by dirty optics somewhere in the machine.
A remanufactured drum unit can cause this type of problem, (defective unit)
Competitive toner in the toner unit can cause poor copy quality.
Reinstall the old cartrige and see if the problem changes.
Not knowing if the machine has a seperate drum unit and developer housing, it would be hard to answer anything else.

FW 870 with background on copies. Background goes away if you press down on clamshell. There seems to be about a quarter of an inch play in the clamshell.

More than likely there is something not installed inside correctly making the clamshell not close all the way. Have you removed any units from inside or recently had it serviced?? I recommend not pushing down on the clamshell when it is copying as this could damage internal parts that are very expensive. Your drum alone is close to 1000 $$!!! Background is most likely coming from the corona units or the drum unit. I would call a service technician to inspect it out as soon as you can before more damage is done

Hope this helps

The copier Minolta CSPRO 2050 shows me call your technicians

Time for a PM on this machine. That's what the maint indicator means. Check the copy count and tell this number to your technician when you talk to him so he can bring with him the required parts and supplies.

The copy comes out very dark. The print is dark with a white background just around the print only. This is a Canon PC-6re copy machine

WOW I haven't seen one of those in years and years but a good dependable machine .the machine sounds like it is very dirty inside. the optics(lens and mirrors under the glass) and the corona wires are very dirty.
it really should be cleaned by a qualified copier technician, but if your mechanically inclined i may be able to walk you through it.
you may be able to get cleaner copies by pressing the "A" button and sliding or press ing the buttons to lighten the copy, that should temporarily fix it

Thank You,

Mikey

Copies and outgoing fax quality

your machine most likely has toner spills in it.
if you send faxes face side down follow these instructions ;
1- take out toner
2- look for thin glass strip on bottom inside the machine
3-wipe clean

if you make copies side up then do the same except look for glass strip on the upper side of machine
