I press the power button and the light comes on then off then back on three times and then I can't do anything for 5 minutes. But it's only to do the same thing again since it wont come on. It kind of happened before, but it came on after a couple times. Is it the power supply? And do I need a new TV.

I have a Mitsubishi WS-65905 HD TV. When I try to turn on the set it does not come on. Nothing turns the TV on, I tried both the remote and than the on and off button from the tv control panel with no success. Does anyone know the problem solution to this annoying concern, or is anyone familiar with the power issue for this specific model...? Your help is appreciated, thank you.

The tv will power off all by itself and then it may or may not turn back on. If it does turn on, it will be on for a short duration then shut off. The interval in between being on has become shorter over...

Try pressing the Menu button and selecting the Sleep timer. You should be able to disable it from the menu choices. The timer may have been activated during a storm or from a power surge. If this doesn't fix it try putting a piece of black tape or duct tape over the "IR eye" on the front of the panel - you may have a bulb or some other source of Infra red that's telling the TV to go to sleep.

HERE'S THE ANSWER TO YOUR PROBLEM:

I think the problem has nothing to do with your TV. I bet the culprit lies on the setting of your remote control. Maybe you set your remote into a sleep mode. When a TV has set into a sleep mode. It's power on light is still red but doesn't work. So all you've got to do is keep pressing the sleep button. After a few presses, it will definitely work. And, you can now enjoy your day watching TV. Thanks.

TV will not come on with remote or power button

The following instructions are for the Emerson EWC1303/1903 tv/vcr. That's the closest match I could find to the Spongebob Squarepants 13' TV
If it's actually in Sleep mode, do the following:

TO CANCEL THE SLEEP TIMER
Press the WAKE UP/SLEEP button on the remote
control until “SLEEP TIMER” appears.
To view the time left for sleep timer press the WAKE
UP/SLEEP button twice, then press the MENU button
on the remote control to exit the sleep timer setting

If unsuccessful, try unplugging the TV for 1/2 hour, then plug it in and try turning it back on either manually or with the remote. Either of these should solve your problem. Best of luck to you!

Pioneer sd532hd5/kuxc/ca powers down on its own

Could be a few things.First check your sleep timer.Sounds like a fail safe mode that when the tvs left on accidentally it shuts itself down so it wont overheat and die prematurely. The last resort is to remove the circuit board and carefully inspect the solder joints near the power supply with a magnifying glass and a bright light. Then resolder those.
