Update for sony psp 2000 ver. 3.71 m33-2

Some games on the internet require the version 3.95 for it to be played. My psp version is 3.71. I tried to update the software on the internet but it says that only psp's bought fron north america can be updated. How can I update my psp when i bought it outside north america?

You can update your system software by any of the following methods:

  • Update using a PC »
Download the update data to a PC, and then save on Memory Stick Duo™ media. Start the saved update data on your PSP® system to perform the update. Select the link above for update instructions.
  • Network Update »
Use the PSP® system's Network Update feature to perform the update. Select the link above for update instructions. Refer also to the instructions for the PSP® system.
  • Update using a UMD™ »
Use the update data included on a UMD™ to perform the update. Select the link above for update instructions.
*As of June 25, 2008, this method is only available for updates up to version 3.95.

PSP-2000 Update problem

Firmware 3.60 is rather old, I would suggest upgrading to 4.01 or something in between before jumping to 5.02, this may clear the problem.

The network update feature of the PSP usually works better than when downloading via PC because there is less room for error. After you upgrade to a 4.xx firmware, try using the network update again.

How to upgrade psp ver.2.81

Under settings at the top, there should be an icon with two arrows forming a circle saying "Network Update". Click on that and it will try to connect to the internet to load the update. The latest version for the PSP is version 3.80. Hope that helped! If you have any questions, please ask!
