Question about Maytag MFD2560HES Bottom Freezer French Door Refrigerator

1 Answer

My maytag refrigerator has wheels both back and front. The front wheels are bigger and the back wheels are smaller and they have screws holding them. The back of the refrigerator is a little lower than the front. Was wondering if I have to unscrew the back legs to make them come down a little then re-screw them back tight when level

I want to move my fridge but it's locked in place. How to unlock?

Hello Tina;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

You did not post your model number which is located on a label on the inside liner wall of your fresh food section.

First remove the bottom grill or toe plate in front of your refrigerator. This plastic piece is either held on with one screw at each end or pop out clips. If clips pull the plate straight out about 2" from each end. This plate is easier to remove with both doors open.

Refrigerator Leveling Screws: Most refrigerators have two leveling screws in the front, one on each side. These screws are for leveling the refrigerator from rolling on the wheels. Turn these screws counter clockwise.

Refrigerator Wheel Locks: Some refrigerators have a lever bar on the outside of the front wheels to lock the wheels in place.

Refrigerator Independent Wheel adjustment Screws: Some refrigerators have two hex head screws on each side. They raise and lower both the front and back wheels.

How do you lock the wheels on a maytag refrigerator

Hello Joyce;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service technician.

You did not give me a model number so I am not sure what you have.
Remove the front bottom grill. Some grills have clips 1 on each end that you just pull to remove. Others have a screw on each end to remove.
1.) Some units have a locking bar on the outside of the front wheels. Turn this bar to lock.
2.) Some units have bars on each side with square heads. There are 2 bars on each side. One for the front wheel and one for the back wheel. You need a box wrench or ratchet. Clockwise raises the wheels and counter clockwise lowers the wheels.
3.) All units have leveling screws in the front. Turn the jack screws clockwise to bring them down. If you did not receive a special wrench with the unit, you will need either a pair of channel locks or another tool when the jack screws touch the floor. Turn the jack bolts 1/2 to 1 full turn. This will secure the refrigerator in your desired position.
I do not recommend 3.) unless your floor is pitched and your refrigerator tends to move. The leveling jack may leave impressions in you kitchen floor. Generally, just the heavy physical weight of your unit keeps the refrigerator in place.

The back break is rubbing

It is probably because you have a buckle in the back wheel, most likely a broken spoke.. Check spokes to see if any are broken. If all spokes are ok you can adjust the brakes with the screw on either side of the calipers(screw in to make gap smaller,screw out to make gap bigger). If you screw in 1 side without touching other side it will push other side out.

My husband cleaned the dryer vent with a brush today and now it is so loud and vibrating. It is a Neptune bought in 1999

Some lint found its way back into the dryer and is caught up in the blower wheel,the speed at which these blower wheels turn any trash that gets hung up will cause a vibration and noise.You are probably going to have to remove the front panel and blower wheel cover to get access to the wheel to clean it out properly. Its fairly easy BUT FIRST UNPLUG THE DRYER remove the screws holding the door,pull out on the front panel at the top where it meets the top,then you will see some screws holding brackets securing the top remove these.then remove screws holding front bulkhead.then you will see the blower housing ,while there make sure blower wheel is not loose on the shaft from the recent vibrating Hope this helps......

One of the paddles inside the drum has come loose on one end--broken fastener. How do I take the top off to fix it?

you have to start by taking off the door at the hinges, then the front panel will twist off at the smaller raised portion, about 2 inches wide. once you have the front off, you will see the screws that hold the top to the front.
the drum baffles are held in with screws and if you can just use a bigger screw or just tighten the ones that are there.

How to level a maytag plus side by side refridgerator I got the front wheels level, but the back right wheel is not coming down and the whole unit can tilt to the back right. How do I get the back right...

There is a bolt in the middle of the bracket that holds the wheel that you turn. When you tighten the bolt it pushes on the the wheel bracket and it goes down, bringing the fridge up. Loosen, it goes up bringing the fridge down.

Maytag Neptune MAH3000AWA seems to be rubbing

I suspect that you have a leveling bracket come loose. Many of the Maytag washers also use a large concrete block fastened underneath to help balance things. Look to see if yours is this type. If so then the steel rod holding thinge that holds it in place may have come loose...should be easy to put back correctly but will require some muscle. Most of the Sears Kenmore units have springs that can come loos from their connections and require re hooking but I do not think you have this type of unit for a Maytag. Hope this helped.

Squaky nose in maytag gas dryer model mdg3000aww

Here we go. First unplug the unit. Remove the front panel by removing the 4 phillips screws just inside the door (on the hinges and just opposite). Next remove the greenish/ brown 5/16 screws that hold the front panel in. There are wires still connected (door switch and moisture sensor) but if you swing it to the side, you can leave them connected and still procede. Next, you have to reach underneath (very difficult to see this so you will have to do it by feel) There is a belt that wraps around the drum. On the underneath side of the drum as you follow the belt it wraps around the motor pulley (small wheel) and the tensioner pulley (bigger wheel just to the right). Now with one hand, move the larger pulley towards the msaller one. This will give you slack and you can take the belt off both pulleys. Now pull the drum forward. There you have the inner workings left. Now, there are 3 wheels. 2 black and 1 white. Your squeeking noise will be coming from the one that doesn't turn freely. You can get the replacement wheel from your local appliance parts store or on line from the manufatrues web site. However, if you do have to wait for the part, take the wheel off the shaft and wipe off the inside race of the wheel and the shaft for temporarily relife and useage.
