do not worry about the model number, i have done some research and it is farily common to most model types......it is called blowby.....a term for combustion gases escaping into crankcase and causing oil to be blown thorugh all vent pipes...in your case, back through the pcv system into the intake..........bad news...this is only caused by poor sealing of piston compression rings...so will require a full engine overhaul..........

unfortunately with the high revs that an outboard goes through, it is a fairly common issue.......

one cheat is by putting a thicker grade of oil in, but this would cause a harder to start condition, especially when cold...so i dont entirely recommend this.

How do I remove air intake screen on 15 Hp 2005 Yamaha 4 stroke outboard

Mike, why are you needing to remove the screen? Its there to prevent larger particles from entering your engine..if its stopped up, use a pressure washer to CAREFULLY clean it.. other wise leave it there.

Where is the oil filter located on a 2004 Yamaha outboard two stroke motor

Some links including a video of how to change the filter. In such questions horsepower is useful along with year :>) Oil filters would only be on a 4 stroke though to protect the engine oil. Your two stoke doesn't have filters in the lower unit. There may be a strainer in the two stroke oil tank.

I have a 2002 Yamaha 15 hp four stroke outboard motor that is have carburetor problems . It seems like the float valve is not working or something . It blows fuel out the top of the carb . ( that is where...

I have to same motor with the same problem. Its the injector, it gets gummed up from the ethenal in the fuel. within the carbourator there is a little pin that is stuck and then fuel spills right out the corburator. People will tell you its the diaphram but not the case. It needs a little tap on the side of carburator and will correct itself(likely).
