Question about Audio Players & Recorders
When I was working on stereos in the late 90's,the lenses were going for about $60.As for now I would guess maybe $75,$80 tops.It may be less, but I estimate a little higher so you aren't surprised at least. However, repair centers usually have a minimum parts price markup of 20%,some even more.So $80 turns into $96.Then shipping and labor.I am including a link to where I used to work.Call consumer electronics, ask them for an estimate cost on a CD laser eye for your model Sony, they should be able to give you a fairly accurate number. If they don't,or if you have some where you are, call them and ask them the same thing.Someone will give a free estimate to attract business.Normal procedure is,once you send it in,they determine what it needs, they call you with a price, and you say yes or no.That goes for just about any shop.Good luck!
