Timer light on front panel of dishwasher has stopped working--how is it replaced?

Most of the led lights are fused to the circuit board. Sounds like the circuit board is going or gone bad. I'm not sure because you did not give the model of the dishwasher.

Most of the control lights are led and do not go bad. But the circuit board that controls the lights can go bad. You may be able to fix the control circuit board but replacing it would be easier.

Maytag is clicking when its going to weigh clothes and spin at the end of cycle

It's a faulty relay on the control board. If you remove the top panel and remove the boards you will find a spot burned out on one of the relays. If you know how to solder then you might be able to repair it.

Can't select wash cycles

Is the control board displaying any fault codes?

Try disconnecting the power cord to the washer from the wall outlet for 5 maybe 10 minutes...give the control board enough time to power down and hopefully the control board could self-correct itself by resetting. No different than re-booting a computer.

If you still run into the same problem, and if so equipped, try holding down the "end of cycle" signal button for 10 seconds and see if that resets it.

What's the purpose of the tub displacement sensor

To detect excessive wash tub movement and shut down the wash cycle. Here is a copy of my post from a real DIY forum;

Google this Neptune TL Washer FAV6800AWW 5 post down.

Here ya go.....in this post I discuss the issue related to unbalance error codes DC and UC;

Your FAV6800A or FAV9800A is going off balance with DC or UC unbalance error codes during spin cycle and you see/hear the wash tub banging around at the start of Spin Cycle of the wash cycle or a Spin Only cycle. If this is the condition the TDS (Tub Displacement Sensor) is working as designed and signaling the Control Board properly of an unbalance wash load condition.

The Control Board receives a varying D.C . Voltage from the TDS sensor and if the out of range D.C. Voltage limit continues the Control Board will halt the Spin Cycle and try to redistribute the wash load. If you are interested I will show you how to monitor the TDS input to the Control Board with a DVM.

The Control Board then starts the Spin Cycle again. If the wash tub/basket out of balance condition continues the Control Board will attempt another redistribute of the wash load. After several attempts (4 to 5 I believe) the Control Board will shut down the Spin Cycle and send a error code DC or UC to the LED display of the FAV6800A, my machine type. And I believe a text statement to the LCD screen of the FAV9800A machine i.e. something like "Unbalance Condition" I'm not sure what the text message is.

If you need help open a post in that repair forum and I will try help you through your issue.
The forum is free and my time is free I just don

I bought second end whrilpool fully automatic washing machine not working

Can be several reasons, starting from the power supply to the control board, if there is no action on the control board then you have to change the board, if the control board reacts to the program settings, it must allow inlet valve to open. the waterlevel sensor to work and the motor to click for starting cycle..
So check and respond.

Why won't door latch lock?

The lock is activated by the control board / timer at specific times to prevent opening of the door (like when the tub is filled with water during the wash cycle and during the high speed spin cycle). The electrical or mechanical part of the lock may have failed or the portion of the control board that energizes the lock may have failed.

If it is just the lock, it may be a relatively easy fix - but it is always possible that the failure of the lock also caused the subsequent failure of the control board too (that's just Murphy's Law) . A control board replacement in these machines typically is not overly difficult job; but you may find the board itself may be a fairly expensive part.

I hope this helps

HI, this is a control fault. the logic chips are malfunctioning. these chips are responsible for initiating the proper washing cycle sequences. you will need to replace this damaged control board asap.

Well there is one of two control boards that is malfunctioning, most common is the Machine (or Main) control board, there is also a display pc board in the control panel, but i have had few problems with that control. Unfortunately the main board is $300.
