Problem with Surround Sound when watching TV

We have a Mirage surround sound system. We had a problem with our cable box last night and was told by Comcast to unplug the digital cable box and replug it back in - the cable box now works, but the we get no sound from our surround sound speakers when we watch TV. Sound does come out of the speakers when we watch a DVD, listen to the sterio or a CD, but not when we watch TV. It is not on mute and we are going crazy to figure it out. We have a Yamaha receiver and a Sharp 52" Aquos TV. PLEASE HELP!!!!
