I also cannot change the resolution on a Dell 1100. The slider doesnt move and there are no options for the monitor. The Properties tabs are grayed out on the menu for display.

Hi Danny - Right click anywhere in the middle of your desktop, just not on any icons. Click on properties. Click on the settings tab. On the lower left is a slide where you can change your resolution. Say yes to accept without restarting. If you don't like it you just do the same thing to change it back. If this solved your problem PLEASE rate this as fixed. If you need more help just add a comment and I'll be glad to assist you further. Thanks and have a nice day.

The display is not fit on the monitor help me how to fix it thanks!!! ayanblink@yahoo.com

You need to set your PC video resolution to the native resolution of this monitor, which is 1440x900 @60Hz. Mkae sure to to have correct video card driver installed and may also need the driver for this monitor if the native resolution is not listed.

Yes, go into your computer's display settings and change the monitor over to 1024 by 768 for example. For windows XP go into control panel then display. Go to the Settings tab and slide bar over to a higher resolution. You will get smaller icons.

I can't change the resolution, after reinstalling windows xp sp3.

You are using the default video driver.
You need to install the video driver for your video adapter.
If you monitor plugs into the motherboard go to the motherboard manufacturer's website.
If it plugs into a separate card that is plugged into the motherboard then you need to go to the card manufacturer's website. ATI and Nvidia are the most popular manufacturers.

If this helps please vote for my solution.

I get an "Out of Frequency" error message when I try to run a DOS based program in Windows XP Home Edition. Is this an OS problem or is something else blocking the program? (the program works on our other...

The application is trying to control the video-card, setting a resolution, e.g., 800-by-60, and a refresh rate, e.g., 72 Mhz, that your monitor does not support. So, your monitor displays "out of frequency".

Click with the second (usually the right) mouse-button on the icon, and choose "Properties", and force the video-resolution to a supported value.

hi

the error message that you are getting says that the main file that helps you to boot the computer has gone corrupted
the resolution for this problem is to do a parellel installation of your OS or uninstalling and reinstalling OS.

the site where you will get the guide for the resolution is http://gur.in
on the left hand side it will have OS installation guide follow the steps and you would be able to resolve the issue

Display resolution goes from 1024x600 to 800x600 at start up.

try reinstalling the drivers for the onboard graphics and for the monitor. Might be the monitor is not supporting the default resolution.

You need to change display resolution.

Follow instructions here if you have Windows XP: Windows XP: Change your monitor resolution

Here for Vista : Windows Vista – Personalisation of the Display Properties

If changing resolution does not work, that means that you have to reinstall video drivers, in this case submit a new question on fixya giving details on computer make and model.
