Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. F1 error indicates that the control board (ERC) has gone bad and the electronic range control (ERC) should be replaced to resolve the issue. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

When I set my oven to self clean after about 20 minutes or so it beeps and flashes F3, I hit clear about a few minutes later it beeps and flashes F1. Mary

F-3 is a sensor failure. themobilian_428.jpgthemobilian_429.jpgthemobilian_430.jpg

F-1 is a control failure. Sometimes cleaning the corrosion off the sensor quick plug or bypassing it entirely cures the problem. I would check the sensor and replace it before buying a oven control.

you can google your oven model for its codes. on our maytag oven the F1 code means defective touch pad or control board.

F1 beeping

hello there:
Please read this carefully and follow the tips and this will help you find out what is exactly the problem ok
How to test many brands of Ranges that are flashing a F1 fault code: You have either a bad ERC (clock) or a bad touch pad.
  1. Disconnect power to stove
  2. Gain access to the back of the clock (electronic range control or ERC).
  3. Unplug the touch pad ribbon connector from the ERC. This will be a flat wire approx. 1 1/2" to 2" wide.
  4. Make sure everything is clear and will not short out when power is turned back on.
  5. Turn power back on to stove.
  6. Watch for the F1 and listen for the beep.
  7. If you get the F1 and beep, replace the ERC.
  8. If after approx. 30 minutes you do NOT get the F1 and hear the beep, replace the touch pad.
NOTE: Some models incorporate the touch pad and the clock as one part. * We have seen a few of the newer Maytag ranges with a F1 fault code and the problem was the oven temp sensor, check carefully the wires to and from the oven temp sensor!!

Oven comes on for 5 min then shuts down everything even the keyboard

Same problem here on JKP15WOW1WW. The cycle starts like this:
1) Open circuit Breaker
2) Open oven panel and push ribbon connector to ERC. Replace planel.
3) Close circuit breaker
4) Run to oven, notice clock flashing some time but not 12:00 and start Bake. Bake button beeps and starts bake coil.
5) Within 5 minutes hear a beep and all buttons on panel are unresponsive. Bake continues. if oven light is on it continues to glow. Only button that responds with a beep (and not to clear bake or oven light) is Clear botton.
Rinse..wash..lather...repeat...

you could have a bad touch pad or ECU which is the main control board.

F1 display and beeping

F1 Power to element relay energized during time of day display.
1. Wiring harness shorted.
2. Or change power relay board (PRB).

Note: for double ovens, change second oven board.

Whirlpool Oven beeps and flashes PF3 when oven is on

This is usually a case of over temperature - in which case the temperature sensor need to be replaced since it should be regulating the oven temperature
